That's an interesting thought, but my guess is it isn't without going back to look it up, I think the AI was defeated and trapped at the end of Discovery.

I think I'm slow because I'm still trying to figure out the link between Synth's and the Borg.

Wouldn't the next logical link in Borg evolution be pure Synth drones?

Isn't that what Lore tried to do with the disconnected Borg? Convert them into androids.

Anyways the Borg claim not to be after pure technology. They also want biological distinctiveness added to their collective. Otherwise they could just steal technology and resources and leave the inhabitants alone.

Man, some of you guys are way too hard to please. That was a terrific episode IMO. The reunion with Riker and Troi was well done and heartfelt, and I thought their performances were great.

There was a moment of weirdness for me last night when Picard see's Riker in the kitchen and then they hugged and then sat there staring at each other for a lot of long seconds, and I thought "Are they about to make out, it feels like they want to make out"

The reunion with Riker and Troi was great. I stopped caring whenever they flipped back to the ship or cube.

Really? I thought the Reunion was weird, awkward and a bit unnatural.

It just all seems so out of character for all involved.

Although I chuckled a little when Riker mentioned his drinking in the past tense. Bit of a nod there.

It kinda feels like one of those movies where the guy is dead, but maybe doesn't realize it, and is passing by all his old buddies to see them one last time on the way to the great beyond.

I loved the most recent episode! I thought it was probably the best yet in terms of handling multiple stories through the episode. Personally, I dug the Picard/Riker/Troi stuff. It hit all the right nostalgia buttons for me. Lol also gotta love “Cancel Red Alert! Burnt Tomato.” After a few so-so episodes (IMO) the last two have been much better. I’m pumped to see where they take this!

Spoiler!

Loved the Kestra name throw back.

Think my favorite part of the episode was Soji's head tilt being what gave it away to Riker. Isa Briones better be one hell of an actress if she's going to be tasked with emulating Brent Spiner though.

I was bummed about about Hugh. It seemed unnecessary.

Yeah...its the concept of killing a Primary 'B' character to introduce consequences or gravitas but really, I found that it fell flat.

My eye twitched when they said Jurati transferred 300GB to Picard. What happened to the good old quad of data? I think my photo folder is bigger than that.

But I do very much like the La Sirena's command interface. Seeing Rios push on the holographic throttle is weirdly satisfying.

It fell flat because it didn't change anything. We already know Romulans are ass hats. They've been ass hats since they were introduced. That they would wait for and immediately act upon the opportunity to kill someone isn't shocking. Not only that but even in that episode we just watched them execute all of the XBs for no reason. That they killed the named one isn't going to change anything because Elnor immediately finds Seven's beacon necklace thing. This one just happened to be named.

He was killed for the sole purpose of making old time fans say "Oh that gives me sad feelings" which it does, but it was quite pointless.

So who's the next fan serv . . . . errr crucially important cast member to show up. I'm betting its Barclay, or even Wesley for the apparent simpsonesque joke making fun of Picards deteriorating mental state.

Wesley rounds the corner and waives cheerfully

Westley - "Hey Captain Picard, its awesome to se . . . ."

Phssssssst, Picard coldly fires his phaser. A blue aura surrounds Wesley as he screams and then vanishes"

Rios- "Oh my god Captain you killed Wesley"

Picard - "Who"

Or

Barclay rounds the corners and nerd like waves at Picard.

Barclay - "Hey Captain, I was just masterbating in the holo suite and heard your vo . . . . "

Phssst a red aura surrounds Barclay as he screams and vanishes"

Rios - "Holy butt crackers Picard you killed Admiral Barclay"

Picard - "You're damn right I did"

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Barclay would be serving a sentence in space-jail for Holo-Bordello related Sexual Deviancy Crimes.

hey don't rag on Barclay, even Geordi and Riker got their freak on in the 'deck. Barclay was just the only one careless (bold?) enough to use current co-workers in it.

Why he wasn't instantly relieved of duty and put into intense therapy, possibly even institutionalized is beyond me. Why Dr. Brahms didn't press charges against Geordi is beyond me. Who did Riker bang in there again?
