It is very refreshing to watch a guy like Milos go to work with a very good gameplan that maximizes his serve, forehand and net play versus some of these young players that just swing for the fences or are unable to play a style that will allow them to win matches that they should win consistently.

It's boring ass tennis and takes no skill. Just like Isner.

Milos isn't the only slam finalist to make his long awaited return! Kei is back!

Sometimes I look back at the 2014 US Open where he beat Djokovic in the semis and Cilic beat Federer in the other semis and think it was just a fever dream. That didn't really happen

Good Canadian news from the Palmas del Mar Challenger event in Puerto Rico.
Liam Draxl on a wildcard is making some noise here as he won his 2nd round match against Colin Sinclair today, but his 1st round win was a much bigger deal as he pulled a rabbit out of his hat and knocked off the tournament's #1 seed Tung-lin Wu 3-6 7-5 7-6(4) while staring defeat right in the face.
Meanwhile Alexis Galarneau is also onto the 3rd round as he beat Joao (not the Game over Portuguese guy Sousa nor the Brazilian match fixer Souza) Reis da Silva 7-6(2) 6-0.

Maybe it's time for Tennys to try pickleball?

Well, scratch that as Medvedev lost to Mannarino earlier today in three sets. Milos plays Jordan Thompson later this morning.

Just to follow-up on Karl's post above, Gabriel Diallo is a quick learner on the grass as he is playing the AEGON challenger event in Nottingham, England and just advanced over young American Alex Michelsen 3-6 7-5 6-3. With his win, he's up to a new career high ranking of #138

What if I told you at the beginning of the year, Diallo would be ranked only 5 spots below Nadal at some point in 2023

Considering Diallo has raised his ranking over 800 spots in the last 12 months, I would have said you're crazy lol

Milos is looking like he's playing reasonably well and into a first set tie break against Thompson. Another good test against a guy that won't beat himself.
A few tactical errors which seem more like rust than anything.
Edit: Down a set and a break - the big man is really looking gassed. Match fitness may be an issue until he gets a few more sets under his belt.

I really hope he can squeeze into the main draw at Wimbledon - Diallo could really be hard out with the way his game continues to grow.

Yeah, Thompson has played well, but Milos has gifted him a bunch of points today. Oh well.

How about this result in Stuttgart - Richard Gasquet knocks off top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6 2-6 7-5 and records his 600th ATP tour win. The list of guys with 600+ ATP tour level wins is the following:
Nadal - 1068
Djokovic - 1058
Murray - 725
Gasquet - 600
That's it - That's the list.

Gabriel Diallo lost a close straight sets match to young Frenchman Arthur Cazaux 7-6 7-5 in Nottingham just now. Still, a good week for the young Canadian.

He's far away from direct entry. His entry ranking is 146, not his current ranking. His current ranking would get him seeded in the qualifying round. But you never know, lots of players drop Wimbledon. PCB dropped out today.
