Default Furnace parts on a sunday...

Flames sensor on my furnace crapped out this morning.

I cleaned it and got it running again but would like to replace ASAP.

Anything open today ?

Amre isn't open until tomorrow.

Furnaces only break down on Sundays, holidays or overnight. It is known.

You might be able to find parts at a home Depot though...

Did you clean the flame sensor with a fine grit sandpaper? If it's firing again, your sensor shouldn't cause you further problems. I think carbon/muck builds up on the rods or something which cause no flame detection and for safety it won't fire.

Yes...but at $20 for a replacement, I'm gonna replace it anyways...

Is it only $20?

When this happened to mine a few years ago the part was $100. I figured it would be $20 like a water heater thermocouple. Since it was so much I didn’t bother replacing it and it hasn’t had any issues for the past 2 or 3 years

Cool, not sure what I was looking at then or if my furnace just has some wires version. At $20 I should stock a spare.

Its always a good idea to have spare parts, but that isn't really a Sunday emergency. I had the same thing happen in October and its been fine since.

But Im not here to talk you out of it, I aint yo momma.

Side story. My extremely elderly inlaw grandparents had an excess of moisture on their windows, so they called the furnace guy. He replaced the blower motor for 1400$

That sounds fishy to me.

find out if any of your neighbors have the same furnace, then wait til night fall and break in and take the parts you need.

Or when you're on a Caribbean holiday.
