Calgarypuck summer
Hey guys
Took a week off after the Flames playoffs, that was exhausting, but thought it time to map out what I see over the next four months and get additional suggestions.
Prospect Ranking:
Will kick this off after the draft, when the Flames have added to their stable of prospects.
Draft Year Rankings:
Had an idea to list the players that made it in every draft year in Calgary and rank them heading up to the draft
Jersey Numbers:
I'd say skip, we've done that recently (year ago I think)
Might be time for all time by position again?
All time coaches?
Anyway CP is a 12 month site so thought I'd kick the tires on some new ideas for after the cup is hoisted in three weeks.

Current Player Survivor. Vote of one player each day and see who's left standing. The last few will be interesting to see who CP's favorite is? Gio? Mony? Sammy B? Johnny? Brodie?
Also interesting would be the order of elimination, have Bollig and Engelland won over enough fans to stave off early elimination?

I want to see somebody develop an app this summer that translates what you say into Hartley talk.
I think Gaudreau is a good kid who will have a great career with the Flames.
Translation: I tink Gaudreau is y'know a good kid who ill ave a great ka-rear wit tha Flames.

Speaking of Brad Marsh, maybe there should be a ranking of the alltime best captains? That's a pretty subjective topic so it might be interesting. Was Iggy better than Lanny as a captain? Is Gio's sample size too small to move him up there? Could anybody fall below Todd Simpson???

I think a 30 prospects in 30 days thing could be fun. Make a list of prospects and have cp members pick a player and do some research on them and their season. When their day comes they start a post giving a little bit of detail of their previous seasons and how they came to be a flames prospect. Then give an overview of their season this year and how they think it effects their place in the organization and finally where they fit next year and long term for the flames. Everyone else can then discuss whether they agree with assement of where the prospects future.
I think it could be fun and provide good discussion over the slow summer months

How about a Summer Book Club? We could read one of the new non-fiction hockey books out there, like Malarchuk's "Crazy Game", or a novel like "Finnie Walsh" that is hockey related and have a discussion.

This could be a fun idea. I loved The Crazy Game... Everyone should read it, a real great look into Mental Health and the NHL.
