Default 2011 Canadian Election Thread

Looks like we're heading to the polls as all opposition parties rejected the federal budget.

http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Bud...297/story.html

Personally I think its bad strategy for the Liberals and NDP to topple the government when they're doing poorly in the polls.

Hmm, I'm going to call it a Conservative majority this time.

Edit: What do I win if I'm right? E-honour?

I agree with CaptainCrunch. I don't like the conservatives (I'm not hot on any party in particular), but what have they done to screw themselves? The "Harper Government" thing and the document tampering were both pretty bad/obnoxious, but no way that's going to be enough to topple them. All this is going to do is cost a ton of money to produce the exact same outcome (imo).

Ignatief can't be delusional enough to think he has a chance can he? I mean really?

Do the majority of Canadian's even want another election? If not then I think that could be one of the main catalysts for the conservatives to secure a majority.

I'm under specific instructions from my father that if a Trudeau is ever Prime Minister again that I am to sell the family business before he can destroy the country.

I wish they'd wisen up, and force every major political party who wants to call themselves Federal, to have at least one candidate per province. That means the BQ must have one person running in Alberta. Or if you want to take it even further, force all parties to have a person running in every single damn riding, or they are ineligible. Drastic? Sure. But I'm sick of the fringe parties like the BQ having so much power, when they don't have a single MP outside of Quebec.

I agree with the sentiments so far, I don't see anything changing.

I'd probably end up in the middle east after some sort of green shaft killed the energy industry here.

I predict CPC minority, but I wouldn't be upset with a Liberal minority either.

There is no way Canadians would give Harper a majority. But i can't wait for the next release of the new attack ads.

Nothing. Politics isn't about ideas anymore.
