No they actually locked down the funding. Now the story has shifted to how they actually go about building the new internet/running a company.
It's still the same rollercoaster plot except instead of funding it's staff.
Spoiler!
They hired a bunch of coders, then Gavin stole them away. So they try to buy another company to get their coders, but the pizza guy swoops in and buys it our from under them. So they put pizza guy out of business to get them back. But the coders leave anyway, then they come back after Richard goes on a crazy code writing session.
I still love the show, but the plotlines have been irritating from the start. I watch for the characters.

I agree about Jin Yang being a little overused. He's really funny in small doses but the more screen time he gets the more he transitions from funny to annoying.
^ Yeah that was really obvious what they were going for to anyone who knows about Sophia. That guy is....."eccentric" to put it kindly. Points for the Dali shirt though.

I was howling with laughter because I simply did not expect that from him. Impeccable delivery, as always. The best part about that line? Apparently it was improvised by Zach Woods.

I'm not sure they can keep pulling the bait and switch on success with us. They might have to start dealing with the pain of success, as alluded fighting the NSA on backdoors, crap employees, hostile shareholders, there are story lines there. It's also possible they can keep making success feel like a lack of success, this season they have a big office dozens of employees and they felt like they were losing the whole time, it's also the first real time they had someone coming up from behind them instead of having someone punch down trying to crush them, arguably they carried allot of success over from last season to this one.
It did look like the season ending was hinting at a new direction for the show where they no longer have to worry about guys like Gavin Belson because they are in positions of power like Gavin Belson.
