It is funny - I was just thinking about him a few days ago and wondered what he was up to. No idea he was in the Iowa Wild. Good for him.

He could probably help a Power Play.

Always find it interesting when a former rival is brought in. Tanguay and Yzermqn were on opposite sides of those Red wings vs Avalanche battles that were absolutely brutal. Funny to see Yzermqn heading a team that brings in Tanguay of all people.

Yeah, good for Tangs - and when Yzerman offers you a job, it's a pretty big deal. Hell of a GM.
Always liked him, and he always thought the game well.

I was thinking it might go back to Tanguay's year in Tampa, but that was the year before Yzerman went there as the GM.
I didn't even know Tanguay had moved into coaching. The last I saw him, he was working as an analyst on the NHL Network.

Tanguay always had a great shooting percentage, and he was great at shootouts. He was otherwise a good playmaker who had won a cup.
I wouldn't be surprised if he had some insights to offer. He was pretty good on TV.

I am sure it helps that Tanguay wasn't there for the worst of it. As a former Wings fan, I certainly didn't associate him with the rivalry nearly as much as other players. He along with Hejduk sort of represented the young next generation of skilled players that weren't as relevant. You had the stars that were hated like Forsberg, Sakic, Roy and then also the heavies like Deadmarsh and Foote. But I wouldn't associate Tanguay too much with Avalanche stink especially since he moved around so much later in his career.
