So apparently in Pokémon Sw/Sh you will not be able to transfer your old Pokémon into the game unless they’re already in the Galar dex and there is no national dex. If you transfer a Pokémon to Pokémon home but they’re not in the Galar dex they’re essentially trapped there until a new game comes out that supports those Pokémon.

People are pissed about this. I’m interested to see if anything comes of this. I think that’s a huge misfire on GameFreaks part.

I get being upset, but the sheer amount of Pokemon these days makes implementing every single one with new models a bit daunting for any company. I don't really have an issue with drawing a line here and carrying over only certain Pokemon.

Some people want the ability to transfer any Pokemon from any previous game to the new one, but the new game will not support all the old Pokemon. They will add some old ones into the new game, but not all, so the program that lets you transfer your Pokemon won't be as useful now.

Third party, Hori. So, cheap at least. Coming to North America too, there’s a listing on Amazon US

Cadence of Hyrule is awesome. Recommended, doubly to Zelda fans.

Just push through that first 30 mins where you die on every screen trying to figure out what the hell you’re doing.

It actually has multiple modes.

You can turn off the rhythm mechanics for yourself (enemies still move to the rhythm) or you can even make it entirely turn based (enemies move when you move and it becomes a weird grid-based Zelda strategy game with killer music). Lots of options if you suck at rhythm games, and I think it would still be pretty awesome. Soundtrack is fantastic.

Except that they're using the same models and animations as Sun/Moon from the 3DS, and those games had the complete Pokemon dex. This is just laziness on GameFreak's part, and/or greediness for when they eventually release DLC to let you import the entire collection

First half of 2019 was a bit slow on Switch but it's crazy the amount of software just Nintendo themselves are bringing to the system in the second half.

June 28: Super Mario Maker 2
July 19: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
July 26: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Aug. 30: Astral Chain
Sept. 13: Daemon X Machina
Sep. 20: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Nov. 15: Pokemon Sword/Shield
2019 TBA: Luigi's Mansion 3

And that's not including anything from third parties, or any indie games. Gonna be busy the next few months!

Broke mine today. Was in my bag and I must have sat on it on my way home. Popped the joy con slider right out of the case and it's missing the screws that held it in.

As per the nintendo usual, thing still works when it's docked but it's days as a portable handheld are done.

Time to decide if it's worth the $100 to send it off to nintendo to get them to put the poor thing back together for me.

Be careful about any games you don't have cloud save backups on if you send it in.

I assumed the games would be on the micro SD that I pulled out.

Is that not the case?

No, saved games are on internal memory. You need a Nintendo Online account to have cloud saves, but you can just sign up for a month. And not all games support cloud saves, so for those you are SOL, unless Nintendo manages to save them for you.
