Yeah, it is a nice course and for me it is a great location because we live in Varsity. Unfortunately I'm unemployed right now so spending $5k on a golf membership is not the smartest thing to do. Hopefully next season though.

From what I have seen, they will apply $750 from the $5080 towards initiation if you want to become a member.

I couldn't find this on their website, where did you see that?

$5K is pretty stiff in NW. Only Hamptons is at this range and the rest are all in $3K-$4K range.

Speaking of which, I saw the Hamptons reconfiguration plans. Hamptons is already playing very tight and it'll feel even tighter after the reconfiguration. Not a good move for golf.

They have signs up around the Varsity community. On their website if you pull up the application form the Trial Membership is listed in their table of fees.

I think Country Hills is also offering a pretty attractive one year membership at under $4000. That is the only other course I would consider picking up a membership for.

I see. $30K membership buy-in is pretty high to me. There're a few designate memberships for Country Hills for sale on Kijiji, you can get one in the low $3K. I got one too and am stoked to play there this year.

Was it worth paying full price? If thats what you paid. Just seems crazy that courses charge full price when the course isnt in peak condition.

Brutal, that course is already jammed up against housing. I've never been a fan of courses where you feel like you're walking through someone's backyard.

I feel sorry for members.

Silver Springs is definitely one of my favourite courses. Had I the money, it's probably the course in Calgary I'd choose.

I'll start but we can let it die if nobody is interested!

Driver: Cobra FlyZ+
3-Wood: still to be determined
Hybrid: Ping Crossover
Irons: Titleist 714 AP2 (4-P)
Wedges: Vokey SM5 (50-56-60)
Putter: Bettinardi Studio Stock 15

Feeling like I might have the right gaps filled this year. 3 wood is always a last minute decision (a 17 degree Adams XTD hybrid is my default). And putter might revert back to my old Odyssey 330.

Hybrid: TBD
Irons: Cleveland 588TT (4-G)

It was $83 with a pull cart on Wednesday at 11 AM. I don't know if that's full price.

Got a tee time at Speargrass on Friday. Looking forward to my first round of the year. Also a chance to hit my new irons.

I have a tee time at Glen Eagles friday.

Do they have a range open or anything yet? Haven't swung a club yet this year...
