Yes same guy.

He's gotten quite unhinged and doubled down on Twitter rather than stay quiet. Trouble is, Poilievre can most certainly call out Liberals record on crime on governing over 8 years, as a politician, that's what politicians do. Stark difference from insinuating that Poilievre is promoting murder and is responsible for the Winnipeg shootings, shootings that as of yet doesn't have a motive and one where the victims were all previously known to police

He's just yet another zombie Liberal MP warming the seat for the next election winner.

Nanos poll numbers are out, and LPC and NDP are now at a dead heat with NDP slightly higher in %.

These seats numbers (especially Atlantic Canada), yikes. Clearly the opposite result the Liberals thought would occur with their preferential carbon tax carve out. It also does show the NDP continuing to gain some support for supporting Canadians (even for a slight moment) versus ideology by voting together with the Conservatives recently on the home heating carbon tax exemption. Will Singh take this opportunity to take his party to the next level or continue to be mid?

The crappy thing for the NDP is they can accomplish more as the third-place party in a Liberal minority than they can as official opposition in a CPC majority.

Crappy? I like a coalition minority government covers more of the population.

True, but only if they use the power in the coalition they do have. Singh blinking on pharmacare is seriously hurting their image.

Liberals are not going to force a vote of confidence when they are going to lose power (and may even fall to 3rd by current rate), but are betting that the NDP are too weak to stand on their own.

The NDP has more power than they pretend they have, if they choose to use it.

I doubt the BQ wants an election either, so I suspect they'd find a reason to keep the Liberals in power if it came down to it. They'd almost certainly be able to extract a pound of flesh for Quebec so they'd be able to sell it as a win.

That dynamic reduces the NDP's ability to push, imo.

I'm hoping for the next government to be a minority. I think that's the best course of action given the options. But reality is the CPC will be given carte blanche.

Interesting development, Google seems to have struck a deal with the Liberals to get a working regulatory plan for the C-18 debacle which was to take effect in a few weeks, in exchange a commitment of 100 million

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/goo...-act-1.7043330

It's still preliminary and contingent on Liberals creating the regulatory framework and a negotiated agreement. Liberals are selling this as a win, though clearly conceded on some major aspects of the bill including huge drop in compensatory dollars and most specifically the single point of contact representing all media which was a major ask from Google from day 1.

This was Google's stance and recommendations back in October.

https://blog.google/documents/194/Go...ion_-_ENG.pdf/

Of note, no agreement has yet occurred between Google and the media outlets through a singular point of contact (which is not existing yet at this time). This still needs to occur.

Google as of yet hasn't spoken on the agreement.

I was just going to post about the new information regarding Indian assassination plots.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/us-uns...ings-1.7043428

Funny now that the Americans are making the accusation, India's tone has changed.

My preferred outcome: both Libs and Cons replace their leaders and Cons get a minority government in the next election.

Oh yeah.

It's almost like the Liberals were right in this one and security matters ..... Seriously. In conjunction with the appropriate channels of intelligence and their American partners.

This is a bad week for PP. Between jumping the gun on the Niagara 'terrorism' card, the Modi government looking like bad state actors (and simping for him in the past), and the agreement between Google and Canada this week, there's not much to be milhousing about.
