Rickard Rackell packs his bags and grabs the bus to Buffalo. He had the top SC rating on my team, but was being crushed in production by Dillon Dube on the third line.
Heading to the Kings is Alex Iafallo, who I'm surprised is not still a King in real life.
Also, Aiden Fink. He's a rookie in the NCAA, and having been drafted out of the Brooks Bandits, I'm guessing he has to be related to Jeb Fink, somehow.

The New York Rangers have traded Scott Mayfield and some cheese to the Washington Capitals, in exchange for Jacob Middleton and a 2025 3rd round pick.
Being in a rebuild situation, it made sense for us to ship out a pending UFA and become a bit younger. Middleton has been playing #4 minutes in Minnesota and is on a cheap contract next year, so let's see if there is something there. Thanks BagoPucks for the talks!

Fantilli was my best prospect since I've became a GM and I was loathe to even think about trading him. I believe he is a future #1 C and that's something we've never really had on our team. Recently though, I changed my mind on how I wanted to run the team and realized that, for me, it's more fun to win in the CPHL than to consistently lose games while slowly building and developing youth. This team is not 1 Fantilli away from being a contender. I needed a better core and that's why I made the trade.
Seider immediately steps in as our #1 dman at 22 years of age. Necas, at 24, is a top 6 forward for the Sabres and will line up on Tkachuk's other wing for a long time I hope. The two prospects are opportunities. Maybe they pan out but if not, we have added two young, top players to build upon. Vrana was a throw in to balance salaries.
Thanks to Jiri for the easy negotiation. Here's hoping it's a win-win for us.

Trading Fantilli is always tough, but I hear you. It's way more fun winning some games than sitting there collecting draft picks. It is doable, it is just a long process, and often not as fun.
You made a good move, you got a piece now to help you win and got a #1 dman, so it's tough to argue with the move.
From Grant's side, he has enough depth to make the move. And arguably his defense core is pretty crowded with top young guys. So it made sense to shift that a bit
Well done guys

Habs and Sharks shake things up
To Montreal
Carter Verhague
Radek Faksa
To San Jose
Mark Scheifele
We can’t seem to find a consistent lineup so we will keep tweaking until we can get ourselves into the playoffs or find ourselves to far out to stay in the mix. This deal almost came through a week ago, but we wanted to get another C before pulling the trigger. After the recent slide we decided it was time for a a few deals.

Goffie is the most frustration GM in the history of the league to deal with.
Thoughts and prayers to any other GM he may be in talks with.

These talks taught me what a wounded animal wandering through the dessert feels like when the hungry vultures start to circle.

Yikes. That's a trade that reeks of desperation knowing Vancouver is coming for your play-off spot.

I'm guessing that the money transaction could have been worded that Colorado will gain 2.5 million in cap. Still because cap is generally equalized in season, it comes across a little odd, although Colorado is now positioned to pick up an errant waiver drop, I guess.
Seems a little light compared to the Dvorak ask earlier in the season, but it's not totally out of line. The way that I would have looked at it, would be that the pick should be enough to buy a buried player on someone else's ahl team, covered by 2.5 million cap.
So if a 2.5 million buried player can be bought with a 4th or a bit more, then all is good.
