At least he doesn't repeat the same stuff over and over and over and over like Rome does.

As mentioned, you’re wrong, it’s not a bracket. Keep proving you’re out of touch mate.

It's wide open to those allowed to participate. Those are that are invited get those invites by having good calls during the year, or by being former winners/invitees.
The winner is chosen by Rome.

The distinction you are making still doesn't change the fact that it makes for some really bad radio.

Ferrall is out of the NY market and they pay more attention to NHL there. I actually listened to him more when he was on Sirius Howard 101 but I do catch him on the 960 weekend broadcasts every now and then.

I like Ferrall as well. Takes some time but you can get past the voice and it does grow on you.
Didn't mind Rome in the past, and Rome still has great interviews, but I can't stand the stuff between interviews now.
Too much talk about clones, too much talk about smackoff plugs, and way too full of him self most of the time. He is a great interviewer but when it's just him trying to fill the air time it's horrible.

I don't think I have it "entirely" wrong, because if its as linear as you suggest, then how do other idiots, I refuse to call them "clones", call one another out to increase their... rating? Don't bother wasting your time responding... I have spent way too much of my life discussing this already and we are likely to continue to disagree, so I respectfully bow out of the debate.
I'll just avoid the thread because i'm absolutely certain the only thing coming out of the interview with GG on the Rome Show will be the loss of brain cells and no useful information, as per...

We all know Jim Rome is terrible and we all turn our radio off for him. IDK who Farrell is.
Did anybody leave the radio on and listen to Gully? Any synopsis? Or should this thread be renamed "Jim Rome And Farrell are terrible".

First time i heard Farrell's voice, i thought they were repeating a clip from some drunk caller on overtime the night prior.

I think your post is terrible Should we rename the thread "Torture is a terrible poster". I get that some people don't like him but that's an opinion only and it gets tiring when people continually confuse opinion as fact.

I think I will respond anyhow thanks.
You refuse to call them clones...and then call them clones. OK then.
For someone who doesn't listen to the show, you sure seem to know a lot about it.
And yes, ignore everything posted on how it was decent interview because of your viotrolic hate towards a radio personality. Maybe you should quit being so narrow-minded about it all and actually hear what was said?
Again though...he isnt for everyone. He is, however, among the most popular guys in the business in the US. I read somewhere he has 2 million listeners a day...those are massive numbers.

Can't stand Rome, hadn't listened to him once since 2011, listened to the Gully interview today and it was good. Will continue to shut off the fan from 10-12 everyday. The voice, the pompous attitude and the content (that does not suit my fancy) being the main reasons why.

If we want to have an entire thread about what a terrible poster I am sure, why not? Go ahead and start one.
If you read my post again you'd likely see that my key point is not that Jim Rome is terrible, but that I'd rather see a synopsis/discussion about what Gully said rather than over and over how terrible Jim Rome is. I don't think I'm alone. In fact, I'd hazard a guess that you agree with me.

So, is there a summary?
...Or will this just continue to be a discussion about how great or terrible Jim Rome is, and why everyone's opinion about him is either great or terrible?

so other than rome being the best or worst guy on tehr adio - can any summarize the conversation he had with GG.
Did he ask GG about what kind of hair product he uses, or if he high centered his vehicle on a rock in a parking lot or if he was planning on attending the local swimming pool for a private event?

It was fairly typical and unremarkable actually.
Rome did ask him about all the young guys coming up and seamlessly fitting in (seemingly anyhow). GG mentioned how they run very similar systems in Stockton and Calgary, and when young guys first get here, he just tells them to go out and play the way they have been. After a bit coaches will start the teaching process of the little things that help determine success or failure at this level.
The other part that stood out a bit was Rome asking him how he is a different coach than the one who coached the Dallas Stars and what he learned at that time that he can apply to his job now.
Talked about the leadership on the team and GG pointed out that Giordano is one of the best in the league at it and as a player.
When/if it becomes available to listen to, I will try and post it.
Edit: here is the interview.

No summary... because Rome is awful and nobody listens to the fan960 from 10-12.
