For the Stars to surpass the Flames in that situation they would need to go 11-2-0, and again they aren't on any truly special run right now. If the Flames continue at their season pace, the only way for Dallas to pass them is to win out their 13 games. They're a non-factor for the Flames (outside of being an opponent in 2 games).

Nobody's saying the Stars are going to pass the Flames. The post was saying that Dallas is almost back in the playoff race.
