Rimouski made some major trades this weekend

Rimouski acquired RW Nicolas Guay, D Walter Flower, C Andrew Coxhead. Rimouski trying to address scoring depth outside their top line of Lafreniere-Pare-Zavgorodniy.

Moncton making a big trade yesterday acquiring C Benoit-Olivier Groulx (Ducks 2nd rnd 2018 54th OA) from Halifax after he was cut from Canada's WJ team a few days ago.

Don't think they break up Pelletier and Kovanov at this point but Groulx could be playing with Pelletier if the offense is struggling and maybe the PP.


Moncton also named Dan Lacroix head coach after firing John Torchetti in a weird manner last week. Torchetti was on leave for personal reasons since December 2, 2019.

Wolf pulled in the third after letting in 5 goals on 24 shots in a 6-3 loss to Regina. Everett is second in the west, 5th overall. 2.13 GAA, .933SV%

Pelletier with a goal,+1 in a 4-1 victory over Cape Breton. Moncton is 2nd in the East, and 3rd overall. 19g/35a/54pts+27, good for 6th in Q scoring (despite being injured for over a month)and 8th in +/-

Pelletier with 0pts,-2 in a 7-4 win over Saint John. 35g/19g/36a for 55pts, 7th in Q scoring.

Roman with 0pts, -1 in a 6-2 win over Victoria.

Just for reference,D Jake Christiansen was 2nd star in both Everett games with a total of 2 goals, 3 assists, +5. 6'1"195, 20 years old, 26 pts in 17games.

Only 25 pts in 42 games-not good numbers for a guy in his D+2 year, even if he was considered a good two-way guy in his draft year. It seems though, that nobody on that squad puts up good numbers (no player is a ppg player), and they are a pretty mediocre team (.500). Maybe the scouts are seeing good things, and he did put up 60 pts in 59 games last year, but he looks like a whole lotta "meh" to me. If Joly wasn't good enough to get a contract, I can't see this guy getting one-just my opinion.....

Translation: Zavgorodniy is close to returning. Maybe at the end of the week if all goes well.

Wolf second star, with a 2-0 shutout over Seattle, stopping 29 shots. Looks like he's bounced back from his WJC hangover, with back to back shutouts.

Vancouver was shut out, so no points for Roman.

I've talked to scouting buddies that are of two minds about Roman. On one hand, he's a good junior and everything about his game screams potential. On the other hand, he's 20 and nothing about him really jumps off the page.


With Sveningsson, Lindstrom, Lerby and Zavgorodniy all possibly going to the AHL next season, and maybe even Pettersen, too, Roman might just be the victim of the ELC numbers game.
