Default Stereo Repair

I have a Sony bookshelf stereo where a few days ago I turned it on and no sound was coming out of the speakers. I've unplugged everything, cleaned the connectors and replugged in the wires. Still no sound. I'm thinking it's the amplifier. Any recommendations for a stereo repair place?

How old is this stereo?

For the vintage stereo scene

Bear in mind, lots of electronics repair services are $80+ an hour so it's probably not worth it if it's a plasticy modern stereo.
