Good win, seemed like a decent sized crowd. Perfect weather tonight made me so happy to be back at McMahon!

People hate Dave. He’s great for the league. We are lucky to have him.

Always nice to win the opener. The defense needs a lot of work as they were fortunate that the TiCats receivers had the dropsies and that rush defense looked straight up porous. Efficient game by Maier but the red zone concerns still linger as they settled for too many FG's as the game could have been put away sooner if they could have finished more drives. The first few weeks are essentially extended pre-season so I expect (or at least hope) the defense will get better.

Dave's play calling still has me scratching my head sometimes. He goes for it at the beginning of the game on 3rd and a long yard on their own 20 yard line but first drive of the 2nd half near mid-field it's 3rd and a long yard and he punts. I just don't understand that call at all as the reason you want the ball to start the 2nd half is to have a chance to score and get a leg up on your opponent and he goes all conservative after being bold in the first quarter. Makes no sense at all.

Jake Maier certainly looks like he hit the gym in the off-season, looks trimmer and faster out there and while he'll never have the strongest arm, he put the ball into some tight windows with considerable zip. Gotta give credit to the o-line as well, they provided good protection for Jake in the pocket.

As far as the new guys are concerned, it's early but the Stamps look like they found a gem in Cam Echols. Brooks also impressed in the return game and it's great to have options/competition with Peyton Logan.

The new guys looked good. Philpot looks like he can break out anytime now. Seems like some bad luck with injuries for him.

First Steven’s goes right into the back of his leg. Gets smoked in the head with a deliberate attempt to injure.

The defence needs a lot of work. I think we have the talent, it’s likely the scheme that’s the issue.

Maier looked the best he has since he’s been a Stamp.

Good win yes. Crowd not so much. I thought it was quite pathetic. They said on the radio just under 20k. That’s a product of pretty blah football for the last few years. Tarping off the corners and it still looks empty! They are trying yes, on field product hasn’t been inspiring to come out for.

My thoughts - seasons too long/starts too early. Hard to get into it right away in May/june, and it’s too long into November. Commitnoke way or the other. When you think about it, you ideally have good football in the summer/fall, but it goes so long that it’s too cold and the football is subpar because of it.

After last years terrible season, cant blame the pundits for placing us 9th / last. Even fans don’t want to attend. They need to fix the sound in game. You can’t make out much of anything of what they say. Get some voices that are crisp and easy to understand, and adjust the sound levels/mix.

It was a sparse, subdued crowd last night. Field goals were barely eliciting golf claps.

That formidable Chris Jones defense got ripped apart by a 38 year old Trevor Harris just now.

The special teams coaches on both sides need to talk to their players about taking bad penalties. Three big returns in that first half wiped away by flags.

The one guy the Stamps shouldn't have let walk way is Shawn Bane. What a game for him today.

Well, that's one Edmonton loss on the day. Let's make it two before the day is over.

I mean, they won, but it was a pretty sloppy game and still plenty of discipline issues that Corey Mace needs to address with his team.

if i hadnt watched the CFL before, i would have come away thinking that MBT was the best QB in league history. They were really pumping him up.

Yeah that was a huge blunder by Dave handing the Riders their best offensive player. He always flashed when given an opportunity and for whatever reason Dave liked Odoms-Dukes better.

Hate to see the Riders win but seeing Chris Jones lose never gets old. It's been a long time since his defense has looked any good in the CFL. Despite spending a lot of $$$ in free agency they still look like the same undisciplined team with a mediocre defense.
