Flames Flames @ Sharks. 8:30 PM MT. Flames stream. Flames recall 8 from Stockton

There does not appear to be any television coverage of this game from either the Flames or Sharks perspectives. I don't see any listings for Game Centre.

No word yet if the Flames or Sharks will provide a stream.

Sounds like the initial plan for the Flames was to send the minimum number of veterans to cover the NHL's requirements for preseason games and recall a lot of players from Stockton to fill out the roster.

However, Peters indicated after yesterday's practice that they the plan had changed and they are sending more veterans. It is still possible that some Stockton players get recalled for the game as they are already in the area.

Did not seem like Tkachuk would get into this game. Plan is for him to get into the Saturday's final preseason game against the Oilers.

Should get a better idea after 10:30 AM MT practice at the Saddledome.

I expect we'll see all the PTOs today. Rieder, Smith-Pelly, Rinaldo, and MacDonald all get one more chance.

Curious if Talbot gets the whole game or if Gillies is there and gets half? Otherwise, why is he still there? Did Peters mention anything yesterday?

I dont see the point of playing Gillies though, they're probably just not sure what to do with him. Give Talbot tonight and Rittich Saturday.

Yeah, unless there is some team interested in trading for Gillies and wants to see him play again then I don't see the point in playing him again.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
As expected, Matthew Tkachuk back on a line with Backlund and Frolik at practice this morning. They won’t play in SJ tonight.

Cam Talbot starts in net tonight. A few other veterans making the trip, but team expected to recall a few players from AHL camp, too. #Flames

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Artyom Zagidulin will be the backup tonight. If Talbot doesn’t go the whole way, Bill Peters says Zagidulin deserves to get 20 or 30 minutes.

Also sounds like Luke Philp will get into his first preseason game as one of the AHL recalls. #Flames

This is really a unique game. We won't know the lines until the pre-game skate. Almost last minute. Looking forward to it.

Sharks are expected to ice a roster close to their opening day roster, so Talbot could be peppered with shots tonight.

Glad to see all of Jankowski, Mangiapane, Dube being in tonight's lineup.

Cases could be made that none of have really stood out enough to justify an opening day roster spot as yet.

I suspect we'll see Andersson rotating through d-partners as Kylington, Stone, and MacDonald all get to audition to be the 6th and 7th men.

With the defence the Flames are likely to be playing tonight, Talbot will think he's back in Edmonton.

I would say almost all those players save Andersson have something to prove, in order to guarantee a spot in Flames lineup opening night. Jankowski more so on the trade front.

Is Czarnik still injured?
