The details are going to make/break this. I hope the Flames brain thrust has a plan beyond this. Yes, that's right. Brain thrust.

Haha nice. Cheaper, no NMC so it’s not an expansion issue, oilers retain salary and send a pick? I don’t see the problem.

If that's the case then I don't have a big problem with the deal. It goes from "OH GOD NO!" to "meh".

Such as Blackmail material on Ron Francis.

I brought this up before, but worth discussing again. Does Czarnik give up #27 or does Lucic wait until he isn't looking, cross checks him in the neck and takes the number?

OK, if Lucic waived his NMC, and Flames get a pick and then Treliving turns around and trades the now cheaper Lucic somewhere else, that would be sheer brilliance. It would Neal for a pick, plus whatever crap you can get for Lucic from, say, Ottawa.

Is it April 1st?

Horrible player on a horrible contract. I don’t get it.

Would make sense though, GTFO of Chuck, then go to Seattle and be closer to family in Van. Win - Win.

The chances are far greater that Neal regains some form and becomes a contributing player than Lucic does. This makes no sense.

Maybe flip him to another team after? I’m scared otherwise.

The fact that Oiler fans generally seem to like this is the real indicator - this is a bad idea....

The details will make or break this. No NMC + a bunch of retention + a good pick would make this tolerable.
