Curious to see if it's a Treliving or Ward hire. I'm assuming the former, given Ward's "Interim" tag.

I hope it's an assistant and not an associate. Give ward a shot to prove himself and make a good culture here. Looks promising so far.

I wonder if Cail MacLean gets a look. He’s done great work with Stockton and they’re off to a terrific start this season.

Stajan does not want to coach at this point in time, nor does he have any experience.

Didn't know he had no interest.
The experience thing didn't stop Martin Gelinas from going straight to NHL AC. Different GM that hired him of course.

Gelinas did have experience though. He was director of player development with Nashville for a few years and assisted coached with their AHL farm team during that time.

Oh weird. Hockey DB doesn't have his AHL coaching information. That site is usually pretty reliable.

It's not exactly unheard of though. Chelios did it a few years ago, Scott Stevens, Adam Oates over the years. Kevin Lowe too IIRC. And he was an excellent assistant coach, if there was ever a concern.

I hope the Flames never hire anyone who doesn't have at least some sort of experience in their new role.
That would be ridiculous.
