Based on the "Come At Me Bro" thread I had an argument that fits here.
Aquaman is actually the worst of the current DC Universe films, worse than Justice League, Suicide Squad, and Batman vs. Superman.
It was overly cheesy, the dialogue was unbearable at times, it had horrible pacing, and was just overall boring.
The only reason it did well is because people liked looking at Momoa and Heard in their underwater outfits.
I disagree.
A major problem with many modern superhero movies was that many were dumb movies, when compared to serious dramatic movies, yet took themselves very seriously.
Aquaman was just fun. The action scenes had excellent choreography, which is not surprising, as James Wan is one of the best. It was also a very visually beautiful movie at points. They did an excellent job of world building too. It was basically just fun escapism.
The dialogue was clearly purposely cheesy, and part of the beauty of the movie is that it wasn't trying to be something it's not. There is a scene where Dolph Lundgren attempts to stab a Scottish accented crab-man with a trident, because he won't call him the Oceanmaster. If they'd played it straight, it would have been a worse movie, and the cheese was the only way to handle the subject matter.

I thought Aquaman was a fun movie the first time I watched it. Then I watch it again.
It's terrible. It does not hold up under any microscope. Intentionally cheesy dialogue is fine when it's used sparingly. All the dialogue was bad. The acting was bad. The special effects are overdone to the point of looking like an Instagram filter.
I actually enjoy BvS and Justice League more than Aquaman.

I really like Aquaman alot, shocking I know! It's just incredibly fun, has great action and tremendous world building. It's a lot like Thor Ragnarok but I much prefer Aquaman. I've seen it several times already and each time I enjoy it more. Mamoa kills it as Aquaman and I can't wait for a sequel which is going to be even better.
Peter Sarsgaard from Green Lantern fame has been cast in The Batman. Rumors are he is playing anyone from Two-Face, to Mad Hatter to Man Bat. Let the guessing begin!
My takeaway from Aquaman, it that everything came really easy for him. No training difficulties, no weaknesses, really overpowered, didn't bat an eye at basically anything, and here's a gift of a super hot soon-to-be wife.
This might have been a Jason Momoa biopic.

Looks good, a little jarring how it jumps around from very 80's to not 80's to modern to old.. but when it is 80's they seem to get the tone right.

That trailer was great! The invisible jet looks like they nailed it can't wait for that scene and how she takes inspiration from Metallica and rides the lightning looks cool. With Maxwell Lord as the villain and seeing that giant satellite I believe the plot will have something to do with surveillance. How Cheetah factors in I still don't know but hopefully she is able to come back and join the legion of doom if they ever do make JL2. Still have to see how Cheetah looks fully transformed.
The cast of Stranger Things knows that they can be in movies that aren't 1980s supernatural themed right? JK. This actually looks pretty great. I can tell ti looks better than the last remake. Not just a bunch of well known comedians shooting off one liners.
