A pesky game in Halifax should have Tommy calling up PDL players for Saturday. If only...

Having a result next Wednesday, which is far from inconceivable, is 100x more important to this club at this very early stage of its life, than a dropped 3 points on the road in Halifax, where they are already in the league playoff in 2.5 months. Having any of the guys that played tonight, or are likely to play next Wednesday for injuries, play Saturday, makes no sense. It's unavoidable as they don't have that ability.

Serious question. Why not?

Integrity of the game etc. Nevermind salary cap or budget considerations, or contract limits, but getting pdl players to fly in and play having never practiced with the club, would be akin to the Flames calling a few U of C Dinos players (or even Calgary Royals players) to play a meaningless league game on short notice.

My guess is next year the league has ability to move games like the Halifax one to a different date where its not in the middle of the CPLs biggest potential week for earning respect in its inaugural year.

That said, the team and the league aren't exactly flush with money, and a rescheduled 7h flight to Halifax may be tough to squeeze in later on. Edmonton game a few days after could be adjusted as well, but if we get through to the Finals there's a few week break I think.

The CSA reffing was beyond ghastly (despite this being a recurring theme in CanPL). Whenever calls, or lack of calls, affect the flow of the game, you know the ref made a serious error.

As long as Malonga, Camargo, and Adekugbe start, I like the chances of the Cavs to get a 1-0 lead and park the bus.

Not the best night, but a lot of faith in the boys for next week.

I agree. If the Forge get all these favours, why not the one team in CanPL that earned them?

Tabernac! Distinctly Quebecois, apparently.

Is it too short notice to have the Foot Soldiers create a Celine Dion TIFO with some sort of pun on it?

Would make a joke about "separating Piatti from the ball", but frankly, bit of pot/kettle here in 'Berta at the moment. But I digress.

Tabernac also rhymes nicely with Impact...

Does anyone know if the ship or rose and crown offering their bus services to the game on Wednesday?

Wheeldon should not start. He looked poor, especially on both goals.

With injuries to Northover and Waterman the only real subs we have for the back end are Hamilton and Eustaquio, and Eustaquio probably doesn't count as he typically plays in front of the centre backs.

Hopefully Camargo is OK. The only real difference makers on the field yesterday were him and Pasquotti.

We could use a veteran signing on that back end for the rest of the season, although I think the transfer window has closed (or is closing really soon?)

Transfer window is closed, so anyone we sign now has to be free to be signed by Cavalry.

Here's the reaction at the Rose and Crown to Camargo's goal:

I agree on the last goal, but how in anyway his fault the first one?
That was as brutal a turn over by mid for a jail break straight to the net as I’ve seen.

His immediate hustle was lacking, right after the giveaway.

It’s just a different team when Malonga, Camargo and Pasquotti are all playing. I’d be curious to know the minutes per goal with those 3 on together vs. not.

I really really hope Malonga and Camargo are good to start.
