the coaching staff haven't figured out that gaudreau is a pp specialist ONLY during playoff time. Why he's out in the final minutes makes so sense given every advanced stat tells u that line gets their teeth kicked in possession wise 5on5.

Is JG really supposed to be covering the defenseman? Bad change had all 3 forwards out if position and Oleksiak isn't where he's supposed to be either as a defenseman.

Also, JG's cross ice pass to Lindy created the Bennett goal.

Yup. On the replay Gaudreau is right next to Oleksiak and Gaudreau looks right at him.

Gaudreau then gets caught puck watching, Oleksiak sneaked in behind him, and Gaudreau was late to react to break up the pass.

Johnny jumps over the boards, comes to the center and sees the guy behind him.

He hits the breaks but keeps watching the puck. He reaches for the cross ice pass but is too short to get it.

Brutal letdown after that comeback. But bad goals, bad penalties. We played down to the Stars level. Hope we have more gas than them tomorrow.

Enough Stewart. Weak attempt after 2nd period to try and stir something up for goaltending. And now again. Talbot made 39+ saves and looks good and Rittich has been trash since his stick drop and pulled multiple times.
