His chase rate is way down lately, and he’s waiting for his pitch now. Lots of improvement lately.

Chasing less, walking more, hitting fewer grounders. Avg up, OBP up, OPS up
Leads the team in doubles and triples (tied)

With the trade deadline fast approaching, I think the Jays could still use a starter, an infielder upgrade, and a defensive OF as a 4th OF.
We still only have 4 starters right now.
Still not sure how long Bichette will be out, and we could use an upgrade on Shaw, when Bichette does come back.
Gurriel Jr, Grichuk, and Hernandez have been a pretty good offensive OF, but Gurriel and Hernandez aren't great defensively. Fisher isn't great offensively or defensively.

Just one start, but I sure liked what I saw from Walker. Just love his mound presence and his stuff looked pretty good too. If he can stay healthy now, his next 5 seasons or so might be early part of the rotation quality. If I was the Jays I'd certainly be looking to extend him if possible.

I keep seeing Clevinger's name out there. He would be a great add, the cost is probably a lot though.
A 3 man rotation of Ryu, Clevinger and Walker could be pretty tough in a 3 game playoff series.
Clevinger has 2 more ARB years before free agency.
A front end of Ryu, Clevinger and Pearson would look pretty good for the next two seasons.

Yeah, Clevinger or Lynn would really boost the rotation, and not just for this unpredictable and short COVID season either, as Lynn has another year left and as you mentioned Clevinger has two.
I'd be really worried about the cost to acquire though.
Imagine adding Clevinger, who is supposedly good friends with Bauer. Bauer says he only wants to sign 1 year deals in free agency, so he signs for a year with the Jays.
Ryu
Clevinger
Bauer
Walker (re-sign)
Roark
Pearson
Merryweather
That could be fun...

A lot of posters seemed to love AA, and hated the idea of bringing in Shapiro and Atkins. But given a bit of time, we are seeing a farm system that's starting to deliver some players, and Management that looks to be doing a good job of getting players from other teams who have substance as opposed to hype. We'll see if they can use the prospect capital wisely and not waste it on veterans with nothing left in the tank like Josh Johnson, RA Dickey, and Jose Reyes/Troy Tulowitzki like Anthopolis did.

Yeah, that's the other side of it for sure. Rather than spending high end prospect capital on older hyped players, you almost just want them to keep doing what they're doing.
Make key additions wherever possible by signing free agents (like Ryu) rather than by risking trading the next Syndergaard for a couple underwhelming years of an RA Dickey type veteran.

Reports are that the Indians are looking for power hitting outfielder for Clevinger. Not something we have much of to spare. Maybe Grichuk while his value is at its highest. Then we can grab Starling Marte from the DBacks.

As poorly as things have gone so far, we're only down a run.
They would pass the Yankees with a win today, so they need to get the bats going here.

That depends what the Yanks do in the second game of their double header. It could be one game either way, or tied.

Even if it's for just a couple hours, it would be great for the team's confidence
