IMO the Jays currently have one front of the rotation starter with Ryu. Now with adding walker they have 3 back of the rotation starters in Roark, Anderson and Walker. If Shoe comes back make that 4 back end rotation guys.
Its not ideal, but we're still technically in a rebuild, and the starting pitching prospects still have to catch up to the position player core.
Also, the bull pen is looking pretty damn stacked so far, so they can probably get away with a so so rotation and still make the playoffs. Once in the playoffs though.....yikes haha. I don't see a Ryu/Roark/Anderson/Walker starting 4 taking you too far.

Nope! Definitely better than Sanchez with a broken fingernail, Thornton, SRF, Waguespack, Buchholz and Font though!

So good luck to him!

Yeah, really hope he does well there. He deserves a shot.

I hope he succeeds in Pittsburgh. I am glad he is getting another shot with a different ball club too, sometimes that's all a player needs.

Top 30 eh? For a one month rental? That doesn't sound very Shatkins-like to me. Walker is only 28, and I know the Mariners brass already said they hope to bring Walker back as a free agent, but maybe the Jays will try everything they can to keep him if he fits in well?

Top 30 isn’t really anything . Plus we’re already a young team . We have realistically 10? Open roster spots over the next few years
The Jays have a great chance at the postseason and that experience is needed to grow . Plus other then the Dodgers is anyone unbeatable this year ? In a best of 5 anything can happen

Im ok with Walker for a #20+ prospect. Trending towards the playoffs and having trouble getting innings out of starters and this will help. Probably a #3 starter right now on this team when everyone is healthy.

Thornton is done for the season.
IMO when he comes back he's another (potentially) failed starter who could end up a high leverage reliever with stuff that plays up in short stints.

Huge series against the Orioles starting today. They can bury them, or they can let them into the race.
Please bury them.

I know there are bigger things involved but its a shame they couldnt get yesterdays game in. Ryu vs some scrub against the last place team in the division.
Whatever I guess.
Ryu goes tonight and the new guy tomorrow I read somewhere?
I also saw a tweet that the Jays have the longest streak going with a starter not getting 7 innings in, at 61 games and counting. Maybe Ryu or Walker can break that in the next two starts.
Probably not though Charlie Hooktoyo running things haha

Yankees lose the 1st half of their double header with the Mets.
Amazingly, the Jays are now a game and a half behind the Yanks
