I'll never get the hate on for SNET. I regularly attempt to watch a game from the opponents feed just to hear what they say about the Flames and even to compare broadcasts. I rarely make it through a full period.
Most American broadcasters barely know the general rules let alone the very specific ones rules! It seem like they wanted to do Football but could only land a job calling Hockey.

Feel like this game is a good litmus test for us. We all know if the Flames play the way they can this is 2 points in the bag. But if they try to be too cute and make lazy plays its a crapshoot.

Curious as to what version of the Flames we see tonight.

Having said that, 4-0 Flames win. Monahan, Johnny, Tkachuk, Neal.

When you can hear the save or the goal before you see the save or the goal, that is pretty pathetic. I don't care that Jugo juice pays you $50 for their ad!!!

Oh brutal. Crazy to think that when I'm streaming a game on my Xbox in the Maritimes I don't have that issue, but local people with cable do. That would piss me off too.

Sportselect Info
Flames Win = 1.9
Goes to Shootout = 3.6
Panthers Win = 2.7
Over 6.5 = 1.7
Under 6.5 = 1.7

Reimer in net per:
https://twitter.com/user/status/1096067225642024967

Flames take the last game as the wake up call they needed to get back to playing the way they were before the break. I expect they should get a win in Florida tonight. 5-2 Calgary with the top line getting back on track accounting for three of the Flames goals.

I don't mind the changes too much. Andersson has been quite sloppy for a while now.

That being said, Neal has been playing well lately, it would have been nice if they give him a shot with Tkachuk. Not sure why Tkachuk has to always stay with Backlund.

Wills updated his lines. He now has Andersson in on the 3rd pair with Kylington

Why is Smith starting? I don't think Rittich has been THAT bad, and the thought of Smith in net is nerve racking. Feels like an automatic 3 goals against, maybe that's just me, but I don't like that decision at all.

Rittich has been awful lately. .810 SV% in his last three games. Time for a little shakeup, nobody's earned the crease as of late.

Honestly believe this was earmarked for Smith a while ago. Not a reaction to Rittich's previous starts.

Edit - My own thoughts, maybe Smith in net is exactly what the Flames need to focus more on their defensive game.

Should be interesting with Smith in net. Flames really need to win this game. If Smith shats the bed it might be his last game (assuming a suitable replacement can be acquired)

He was good against TB. Sv% is a meaningless stat.

wow we've officially reached the point where blind anti-Smith people have resorted to calling widely-used statistics "meaningless" to suit their argument

https://twitter.com/user/status/1096087189388181504

I'm sorry, but both goalies have been very, very bad lately, to an almost identical extent. Flames need another guy in net, stat.

Rittich wasn't horrible - there's wasn't the long range stuff like with the Canucks, but I wouldn't call him good against TB.

Nah, Rittich has been fine. I think you need to lower your expectations because he has played like a regular average NHL goalie in the past few games instead of "being amazing". Surely, he deserves some average games this season doesn't he?

Smith plays like trash though. I wish the Flames had another back-up who could play tonight though.

Rittich has played like a bottom third backup since the Xmas break with a .896 save percentage in 14 appearances.
