Well, this first set is toast as Opelka gets another break and is serving up 5-1.

Much more competitive second set as Schnur has upped his game and we are on serve at 4-4 in set 2. I have to run and do some errands however so I hope to return to good news later.

Schnur saves 2 break points to make it 2-2 in the 3rd. Hes really hanging in there.
As an aside.
Schnur has drawn Mannarino in Delray Beach. FAA has drawn Fognini in Buenos Aires.

Schnur fought hard and saved 4 match points but loses the 3rd set tiebreak 9-7
Double faulted at 7-7
the first serve was almost an ace, out by a sliver.

Didn't watch - was either guy broken in sets 2-3?

Neither guy was broken in the last two sets. Opekla didn't face a break point all match and served 43 aces.

Over in Dubai, Genie Bouchard (who got a wild card into the tourney) beat #60 ranked Vera Lapko in straight sets (6-3 6-4) and will next face Simona Halep.

Well, Genie lost to Halep and I didn't see the match, but 7-6 6-4 suggests it was a pretty competitive tussle.

Two Canadians about to hit the court in Delray Beach - Peter Polansky faces #2 seed John Isner while Brayden Schnur is ready to do battle with #8 seed Adrian Mannarino.

Welp. Looking dire for Schnur today. Lost first set 6-2 and now down 3-0 in the 2nd to Mannarino.

Yup, Brayden goes down in straight sets 6-2 6-2. Not too surprising considering how much tennis he has played over the last 10 days, Mannarino is one frustrating opponent as well.
