Him signing an autograph is awkward enough. I can just picture some parent with their kids walking up to him and asking him where the hockey stars are signing autographs. "Uh, I hate to break this to you, but I think it might be me..."

Exactly so. Edmonton brass can say that they've taken care of business this way, blame absolutely everything wrong in Chiarelli, and hopefully dodge the bullet themselves.

Which is great for the Flames, because it promises years and years more of this kind of clown show.

Disagree.
One guy has caused the organizational toxicity and made the decisions over the last 20 years which has lead to complete distrust by players in joining the organization. That has lead to overpaying players to go there, terrible results which has resulted in high draft picks...and he’s back in the driver seat.

Lil'Gretz:Okay guys, we'll be making a decision after the autograph signing today, but we're sending somebody down to make room for Sekeras. Just wanted to put that out there in case fans start asking questions.

Manning (jumping up with hand raised) :ME, me, me! I'll do it. I'll make the.. uh, sacrifice. Pick me!

Maybe he is truly a Ranger at heart and he came back to Edmonton to wreak havoc on an organization that hurt him at the time of his departure.

Or maybe I'm being ridicous.

Years ago, I actually got suspended from HFBoards for criticizing Lowe on the the general forum (not the Oilers board). Some Oiler fans were saying that Lowe was one of the most respected executives in hockey. My response was maybe in Edmonton, but he is a laughing stock everywhere else. No swearing or attacking individual posters, but instantly suspended. I haven't posted or read the boards since.

I think now, most Oiler fans are coming to realize the truth.

Baby-Gretz making the dead-simple decisions up there. As usual, scouting and roster moves pulled from Twitter feedback. They'll be back to drafting the consensus player for whatever high pick they end up with soon enough.

Looking forward to seeing what the genius that has put together the great depth they have now (repeating comments directly from Oilers media recently) can do to make the playoffs this year.

Bit of both. They save ~$900K off his cap but the rest counts against them this season and next.

Then again, they'd have to known that nobody was going to take him.

But what Oilers management knows likely wouldnt fill a thimble.

Sent to the minors.

Probably part of the master plan all along.

That'll teach him to mess with Connor.

He's better off in Bakersfield. Manning must be thrilled right now to get out of that cesspool.

HFBoards are full of oil fan moderators, I stopped posting there because everything anti-oilers gets deleted immediately with no explanation
