Wore my Flames hat to the office and received some dirty looks before I blurted out "It was an accident!" to alleviate the tension.

Yeah, that'll be the day...
1 goal his last 2 playoff series. No evenstrengh playoff goals since 2015. 0 shots last game. Threw maybe 1 soft hit the entire series. Non-existent line driving.
On the path to be yet another disappointing playoff for #23.

It strikes me as odd that you would include the current series which is at best half finished was one of Monahan's "last 2 playoff series." Yes, Monahan had only one goal in his last playoff series, but he scored four in four games in 2017. Moreover, his goal scored in Game 2 v. Colorado in 2019 was at even strength.
No question: Monahan has to be better. But it doesn't help anyone's cause to make stuff up.

The advanced stats really break down here, IMO.
Sure, Monahan's line might be above 50% in CF and xGF and whatever else, but they are doing jack #### with respect to actually accomplishing anything.

Yup you are right on that, I read the nhl.com table incorrectly. My OP would be correct if I stated "1 playoff goal at ES since 2015".
And while you might not like how I included the current playoffs in his goal scoring total the past 2 seasons, it does not change the fact that it is true. If someone were to ask you how many ES goals has Monahan scored during the past 2 playoffs, you have no choice but to answer 0 as of this moment.
I hope it changes, starting tonight.

Time for Janko to prove he belongs. If there was ever a time for him to make a statement this is it.

Yup. If Jankowski doesn't play with jump and emotion today, he's dead to me.

This goes for a few guys for me. I’ve defended Gaudreau to many in my circle and have believed he was a special player since I first started watching him in college, and for his first few season here, he did not disappoint. But now, if we can’t get something out of both him and Monahan when it matters, I’m in the camp that it would be time to move on.
I hope they can step up and prove they are the big game players we need them to be, and that some of us think they can be. Time to put on the big boy pants.

The flip side is they have also given up 0 High Danger chances.
So to me that screams a line that's a bit gunshy after getting lambasted last season for playing too "high risk" and giving up too many chances against in their series against the Avs.
IMO that line has actually played strong defense and back checked well, and have been carrying possession, but they are taking absolutely zero risks to create chances in the offensive zone since that could also come back to bite them on the defensive end.
I'm intrigued by winger Jankowski on a line with Ryan. Think those two with Reider could actually compliment each other well as a defensive 4th line.

Rinaldo out after being completely out of his depth. Disappointing but then again he is pretty much good for nothing but hitting and knuckle chucking.
Now is the time for Janko to prove he deserves another NHL contract. It's pretty much last chance saloon for him.
