I would imagine it will be much like smoking tobacco products. That is banned in many public spaces and I would guess cannabis will be the same. Perhaps more restrictive due to to much stronger smell.

But I'm asking if they can ban cannabis throughout the entire community. I'd think you can't outright ban a legal substance.

There are dry towns where you can't sell or buy booze but you can still drink it in your own home. I would imagine there will be communities that ban the sale of cannabis but it will still be legal to consume on your own property, just like alcohol in a dry community.

Are there dry jurisdictions in Canada? I haven’t heard of that. I know it’s a thing in the USA though.

There is a small number of them. Two even in Alberta (according to Wikipedia).

Some places I've been in Texas end up with these ridiculous scenarios where you need to become a "member" of a "private club" anywhere you go to have a whiskey. I'm a member of 3 different restaurant "clubs" in Glen Rose, Texas now because I didn't want beer. It's really stupid.

One Alberta town that I'm aware of is considering banning it entirely.

Heh but Texans are resourceful. They open drive through liquor stores right outside the county lines! That’s a lot of fun.

Tonight my wife commented on how these 17 to 21 yr olds are eating tide pods, what kind of stupid stuff are they going to do when weed is readily available?

Probably smoke it, which is a lot safer than eating Tide.

I like the imagined idea that legal weed is somehow more dangerous than eating laundry detergent.

Oddly enough my wife mentioned the same thing.

Time to start a 'War on Laundry Detergent!'

Anyways, I briefly looked into it and all I could find was that the initial report came from Florida and of course....of course it did.

Florida doesnt count. Florida is cheating.

And all the fatalities from tide pod eating were old senile people or mentally handicapped. This tide pod thing is just an internet meme and isn't a wide spread thing.

To those that lament the health risks, I would point to the fact my breath has been undeniably fresh since I took up podding. Same cannot be said for alcohol or marijuana.
