I should say, the way WWE is scouting, developing and booking their young talent, I can't help but think they're basically hiring athletic social media influencers who they can train to wrestle once in a while. Every character seems to be some sort of marketing attempt for Gen Z.

Just read a story that Jeff Hardy was released from WWE. He apparently walked out of a tag match at a house show trough the crowd and didn't return, then no showed the next night.

I recently watched him on Stone Cold's show and it seemed like he had it together...guess not as the article says he was offered help and rehab and he refused.

Yeah, I've been following this for a while about him being sent home after being slugglish in a tag match and walking out of the ring, I was hoping it was that he was sick or injured.

But I guess he's fallen again. The WWE offered him rehab and he said no and they released him.

I honestly hope that AEW doesn't sign him Its the last thing he needs.

I did watch Austin interview and he talked at length bout his addictions, but he came back to the whole I took care of them myself so it seemed suspicious. Addicts can be the best liars sadly.

I hope he gets actual real help for his demons. But its a sad story. He's trending to being another one of those die too early guys.

Sad to see, and I hope he gets the help. I'm sure the WWE left the door open for rehab if/when he chooses to take it.

I'd like to see Jeff and Matt do a tag-team match one more time on the indies, then wrap up their in-ring careers. Matt said the same thing - he wants to tag with Jeff one more time before he calls it. They don't need the money, they have cemented legacies, and their bodies are running on fumes especially for the type of wrestling they were doing. Even Matt doing tag-matches on AEW tapings, his body is stiff as a cardboard.

I think that It's time to retire, guys.

Yeah, I think their style had to catch up with them, and honestly at least Matt was smart enough to change his style and not do the daredevil stuff anymore and work on his character. I mean Jeff had that Willow character that was just WCW bad.

I really want the indies or AEW or WWE to not sign the guy unless he accepts help.

He's pulled this stuff off before, and showing up again in no condition to work is incredibly dangerous. I mean I can't imagine a no help Jeff walking into a AEW dressing room with Sting.

I know his issues are probably also influenced by his pain management. But WWE who is very good at reaching out to current and former workers for rehab and help.

Both of them could be incredible trainers. In fact, I think Matt is already doing that, not just with his HFO group, but all behind the scenes. AEW has done a great job utilizing veterans, both in on-screen and off-screen roles. Not sure I would hand them creative-focused roles like producers though, I don't think they have the creative skillsets to build long-game talent and characters.

I wish Rick Rude was still around, that guy would have been amazing as a veteran presence for the young guys in AEW - both for in-ring and character work.

It sounds like Kevin Owens has in fact re-signed.

As much as people were excited about it, I just didn't think KO was going to leave. I think he likes his position both in how he's used (high card gate keeper/potential transitional champion) and how secure it seems to be.

Yeah, I'm seeing alot of AEW fanboys whining and saying he picked money over happiness but what they don't get is not everyone is miserable in WWE and wants to jump to AEW the first chance they get.

I'm sure there were many times he was frustrated but you can say that about any profession.

As much as I love AEW, and think pretty much everything they're doing is superior of WWE....

WWE is still "the show". Sure you might be happy as a stage actor in Toronto, and doing rather well... but... it ain't Hollywood, no matter how much you prefer Toronto to LA.

If you're happy and doing well with a WWE guarantee, why give that up?

KO picked a hight spot in the company. He's not a tweener; he's a main card guy. Hard to say what his trajectory would be in AEW given how strong it already is. He's also almost 40 and has a wife and kids. He did exactly what AJ chose as well.

Sounds like Johnny Gargano isn't in a hurry to go anywhere claiming that maybe the world needs a break from Johnny Garbano and he's going to spend time at home with his family.

Good for him.

I saw two posts on Squared Circle along the lines of and unironically saying they hope WWE releases him quickly like they did Gallows and Anderson. So I did a quick jump down the rabbit hole and they were both huge AEW marks and had made posts critical and demeaning of WWE and WWE fans after all releases last month.

Wrestling brand loyalty is a crazy drug.

Toni Storm requested and was granted her release from WWE.

And apparently she didn't just ask for her release and was granted it. She flat out quit. There's also been reports she quit because of burn out.

“Turns out, Toni didn’t exactly request her release… she just up and quit. Worked a triple threat at a house show last night and then paid out of her own pocket to fly herself home.”

To me it wasn't a great push. The WWE was doing what they do. They pushed Toni enough to be credible and then basically Charlotte made her look like trash, mashing pies in her face etc.

Honestly, Charlotte bores me and the WWE is doing a piss poor job of developing woman except for Liv, but Liv made herself relevant with her work ethic and amazing improvements in the ring.

But basically if you're not Becky or Charlotte, you ain't getting crap.
