Some rather surprising news to start this year.

Quote:
Tiger Woods announced Monday that his longtime partnership with Nike has ended after 27 years, closing one of the most iconic brand relationships in professional sports history.

"Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world," Woods said in a statement posted to his X account. "The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever. Phil Knight's passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way."

"People will ask if there is another chapter," Woods wrote. "Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA!"

After Woods turned pro following a record-breaking playing career at Stanford, he signed endorsement deals with Nike and Titleist. The multiyear contract with Nike was reportedly worth $40 million, which was the richest endorsement deal for a professional athlete in history at the time.

20 year old Amateur Nick Dunlap is leading the Amex right now. Could be the first amateur to win on tour since Mickelson in 1991! He's already the first guy since Tiger to win the US Junior AM/US Am, so definitely has some tournament chops already.

The PGA Tour has finalized an agreement with Strategic Sports Group, a consortium of billionaire sports team owners, to infuse at least $3 billion into a new for-profit entity, PGA Tour Enterprises, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan is expected to inform PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions and Korn Ferry Tour members of the deal in a conference call Wednesday morning.

The PGA Tour, DP World Tour and the PIF signed a framework agreement June 6 to combine their commercial assets, including the LIV Golf League. The agreement had a Dec. 31 deadline, which was extended as the sides continued to hammer out final details. Monahan and PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan reportedly met in Saudi Arabia last week.

Unreal.

And it isn’t looking good for a round tomorrow with some serious rain on the way. This could be it today.

That putt on 17 was basically for the 59. The thought of a 59 at Pebble is just crazy… kind of glad it didn’t happen. Augusta, the old course, and pebble are too sacred for a 59.

Still a course record. 60 at Pebble is insane.

Nick Taylor needs a birdie on his last hole to shoot 60.

I think that ties the course record.

Nailed the bird for 60 and ties the course record.

So many low scores already this year. Someone check these guys for PEDs or rigged equipment.

Preferred lies, soft greens and no wind equals lower scores.

Feels like maybe the PGA Tour should partner up with a rehab center for future Phoenix events, pissing yourself in broad daylight is definitely a sign it's time for some help.

Nick Taylor is really making the final round difficult for himself. I'm not sure yet can keep making these mistakes and stay at the top of the leaderboard.
