Seems almost as much about a showcase of her as it does what the NHL and NHLPA needs to do better. Which is great to see...highlight the good in the world.

Rick Westhead is on a roll, and I hope he never stops. Hands down the most important reporter in hockey right now. Actually, Emily Kaplan is close behind.
The rest including his majesty Elliott Friedman are turning into mouth pieces for agents, GM's, and the league with some lip service to DEI without actually doing much.

Pretty ridiculous that the NHLPA is going to have to "review" on whether or not Tess's kids are going to have support paid for by them. It's pretty clear cut that Ian during his career got hooked on the pain killers which directly caused emotional stress on his family that they are still dealing with. Not a good look from the NHL.
In a sport where players are paid millions of dollars it's not acceptable that they have to pick and choose who gets help with medical expenses and therapy. As a former Flame I wonder if the organization will reach out.

Taking a quick glance through Ian's twitter account, seemed like the dude went off the deep end. Seems like hes talking about antivax conspiracy theories and other crazy ####.

Holy, that is depressing.

There's been a lot of criticism on the PA lately, especially from retired players.
Are there unfair expectations placed on a group to represent and be responsible for the health and well-being of ex-players?
Is it that common for employers and unions to focus on helping ex-employees or their retired staff. Is this even a realistic thing to expect? Seems like a huge stretch IMO.
