I miss wings from Calgary. Regal Beagle was one of my favorites.
These days I usually make at home. First in the oven on a low heat for an hour, then in the deep fryer until crispy. My wife like them with just salt and pepper while I make a special sauce of Sriracha, lime, garlic, and honey.

I think Beagle 14 has grilled wings and a ton of flavors if you’re worried about that. They also used to do wing night prices for takeout, not sure if that’s still going on.

I'm a big fan of Mugshotz. Especially their Mugshotz Salt N'Pepper, and their Cracked Pepper and Lime flavors.

If you like more Asian flavors, Pure Vietnamese restaurant makes AMAZING wings. And they are HUGE!

Can't wait until they have dine-in again - Wednesday nights are wing nights. Parmesan truffle wings are to die for.

The best place for wings in High River is Knee Deep Bar and Grill.

Every Thursday night is wing night and you have to reserve a table if you want to to enjoy a choice of 13 flavoured wings and 14 local beers on tap.

Ed's is where we first tried Buffalo Wings in the 80s. They had something called the "triple suicide" and "meltdown" wings. So hot they were painful to eat and painful the next day.

Hayden Block and the sister restaurant by Western HS has good wings
They are smoked and spicy.
A solid combo and a solid entry into this discussion, IMO.
The worst part about wings is remember how I could smash 50 in a sitting during my 20’s without a care in the world.
Stupid old fat UCB

Stavros on 4th used to be pretty good, haven't been since they moved.
I often make mine on the bbq on the warming rack for 45 min, then toss in sauces.

Weren't they called Chernobyl by 1990? I had about 50-55 yesterday, and I think that's it - going to have to put an end to this wing consumption thing. I didnt even feel bad - could have had another 20. Just too unhealthy and clearly I cannot stop at... 10.

Not normal wings but I really like the Peri flame grilled whole wings from Barcelos or Nandos.
I just got my dad a convection oven similar to that Breville since he likes to do wings.

Mug Shotz is probably my favorite in the City for after work wings. Thursday is platter night and for like $35 you 5lbs of wings in 3 flavors. We usually get the hot wings which are really good, the louisiana parm, and the soy-sation.
Regal Beagle on MacLeod is good too but be warned that it's a bit of a dive bar (I guess Mug Shotz is too, they could really use a window or two!). Wing nights are like 3 or 4 times a week and the salt and pepper wings are great, same with the Beagle wings.

Me too, 100%. The big drum stick style wings that seemingly everyone but me (and you) love just don't do it for me. Even at the best crispiest places they tend to have more of a soggy texture, and too much cartilage going on.
I know it sounds dumb, but when I eat wings I'm looking for to get through a ton of meat on a single wing, I actually want them a little thinner so I can experience more of the crunchy, flavourful skin.
Give me 20 nice, crispy smaller wings over 10 bg drumstick style wings any day of the week. Way more fun and enjoyable to mow through those.

I know it sounds dumb, but when I eat wings I'm not looking to get through a ton of meat on a single wing and fill up, I actually want them a little thinner so I can experience more of the crunchy, flavourful skin, and more of them.

Could not agree more with every word you said haha! The cartilage is a complete turnoff for me. I'm guessing for this reason you're a wing guy over drumstick haha! Id take 10 wings all day hold the drums, small and crispy
