I don't know about that. The opening action sequence in episode one where Sam jumps out of a plane and then has a dogfight through a canyon didn't feel like network TV to me.

Episode 2 was a step up for me for sure, really enjoyed it. I still feel like they are really trying to force the whole buddy cop thing, it has to happen naturally... but I'll let that scene slide for the rest.
I really like how they are expanding on the Cap lore and bringing in a lot of side stories from different comic arcs.
This is a neat mechanic through Disney+ and honestly a bit refreshing from the block busters and origin stories.

There are only 6 episodes so not a whole lot is going to happen naturally. I worry the runtime is going to force them to be too quick with some of the narrative.

A big fight on top of two moving semi trailers isn’t Big Bang action?

Maybe if you're Fast and Furious #1. But we're on Fast #9 now. It's not big bang action until there's a skybeam.

50 minutes total run time each, but that includes the Disney+ standard 8 minutes of credits.
I've heard that this series is supposed to be about the same total length as WandaVision, but WandaVision had shorter episodes to start to fit the sitcom style, so that's why it was 9 episodes and Falcon and Winter Soldier is 6.

So far so good. I'm enjoying the continuation of the Captain America story line through the eyes of his closest allies. I really liked the brief Bucky Falcon dynamic in Civil War and am happy to see this continuing. The buddy cop stuff stalls at times and that therapy session felt contrived but still a few good laughs so far. The argument about wizards and finding out Bucky read the Hobbit was funny.
Also, after WandaVision, I am enjoying this being more a predictable by the book Marvel story with fist fights in the action scenes.

Okay, I wasn't that into the first couple of episodes, but the third was really good. More color, good action, just more fun than the first two, which didn't really speak to me.
Lots of world building, plot development and character development.
The budget showing up too.

Yep, I was excited for the return of Agent 13, and we get a completely different character. My crazy thought is that she is the power broker.

Why are they making series around the lamer characters.
Nothing about Wanda, Falcon or Bucky makes me want to watch centric shows around them.
Even Ant Man has more personality than those ones.
Robert and the Chrises carried the MCU.

I think you should expect the TV shows to be secondary characters. Its always going to be Falcon/Bucky instead of Captain America, and Loki instead of Thor etc.
Some of the side characters are pretty interesting though, and I'm excited to find out what happens to Sharon Carter/Agent 13. I'd believe anything from high level SWORD operative to bagman for whatever Fury is doing to crime kingpin.

Have you watched the shows?
WandaVision was alright. This has a much more spy thriller vibe too it, particularly the most previous episode. Reminded me a lot of Cap 2.

So... the Zemo part was pretty bad. This guy is a mass murderer, a terrorist, who tore the Avengers apart and set the world up for failure against Thanos with a fractured hero team. And it’s just a five second scene and we’re good? Hopping on HIS plane? Eating his food? Going where ever he takes you?
I dunno I just had a really hard time getting passed that part. I felt like it was really, really lazy writing.
I thought the rest of the episode was pretty cool, lots of spy and double spy stuff going on. Some more background on the flag smashers is neat as well.
But the quality dipped for me big time this week.

Yeah I'm having a hard time getting into this. I enjoyed WandaVision a lot more - it was totally unique in its approach and kept me guessing.
This seems like lazy superhero action stuff.
I also started The Boys this week, so perhaps that's coloring my view.

This.
But then, this type of #### happens in comics all the time.
So it's really not that out of the realm of comic hero fantasy side story BS.
So I'll allow it.
