I assume it’s been few and far between for watching playoff hockey for you. Now, the playoffs, has a bit different intensity to it, so scoring is quite a bit different.

Oh and, much like the City of Edmonton, all the goals scored in the regular season are meaningless.

Yes, the Oilers are 12th in goal differential at +14 and sliding. Only +2 above Montreal.

Teams shut down one of McDavid or Draisaitl and it's lights out with who you have in net.

RNH is your 3rd leading forward scorer and ranks 87th. The Leafs have 5 forwards before your 3rd.

So are the Oilers going to thank the schedule makers that they are the first team that gets to play the Covid Canucks? The Vancouver media is already stating that the Canucks will have to play shorthanded on Friday because they won't have enough healthy bodies to make a full roster. Surely Connor is on the phone to the league to make sure that the NHL reschedules the game for the Canucks. Yeah, right!! Terry Jones better get on the phone too about such an injustice for the Canucks!!! ####ing hypocrites!!!

This is so unfair to the Oilers.
There is no more rested team in the league and the Oilers have to play them first?
Who is going to be more motivated than a team that just faced the adversity of a teamwide Covid outbreak? And the Oilers have to play them first?
This is a team that is now pretty much immune to Covid, that's basically a super power. And the Oilers have to play them first?

Those guys all had Covid, shouldn't they have to stay 6ft away from Connor? They were actually touching him when he had the puck!!!
This is clearly the league ignoring the rules, all of those guys should be suspended, and we should be awarded the cup.

I used to think so too but we're what? 40 games in? This oiler success is really getting on my nerves, more than the Flames flailing. We said last year that their success was unsustainable but here they are again. I hate them with a passion and they shouldn't be playing as well as they are this year and last. His stats are already consistently declining.

Just in time for the playoffs.

Also, teams get less healthy as the season goes on. For a team with no depth, that's more noticeable.

The only thing I give very very reluctant credit is that Tippett is and has always been an excellent coach, even if it's "boring". He is through in preparation and scouting, video on other teams and tactics and communication of his message to his team.

To that end, it is a lot easier to be prepared this season with the limited teams he had to prepare for.
