Funny side note:
Utica has a green man much like the Canucks who taunts players in the penalty box. While Gillies was in the box, he sat quietly in his seat.

3 Utica goals in 13 minutes.
Corbeil seems to think he's still in the Comets organization.

Nothing final and accurate yet from either team or the AHL site. I can provide a decent guess with what I can find, but that's about as good as I can do. The Flames were outshot, that I'm sure of.
Flames: 21 - Markstrom made 6/6 saves and Erickson 13/15
Utica: 27 - Carr made 21/21 saves. Corbeil got lit up like a Christmas tree for 3 goals and neither article mentions how many shots he faced. Adirondack posted on Twitter with 8:33 left to play it was 27-21 shots on goal. I'd venture to say 30 probably wasn't out of the question.

Adirondack Flames @AHLFlames
8:33 to play at the period time out, score is still 2-2. Shots now 27-21 Utica.

So yea...there's a complicated answer to what should be a seemingly simple question.

Is it too early in the rivalry to start a "The Utica Comets are NO GOOD" thread??

Not sure as there was no radio or TV broadcast. Both the Flames and Comets Twitter just wrote that he and Mallet were
In a fight. No further details were given.

I'll bet the squad will be happy to get Ortio back.

Their goaltending might one of their strong points this year. Ortio is Ortio and he'll eat up the majority of games. Thiessen's been a very good AHL goalie for years now. I would bet on most other teams he'd be a starter. Then you've got Carr who's getting attention from Elliott Friedman and, IMO, is going to be an AHL stud.

the D is almost there - add Wotherspoon and Potter and they are fine.
Add Baetschi, Ferland, Granlund and Jooris, and the forwards are looking good too.
