Sportsnet releases Flames broadcast schedule and broadcast team
http://media.sportsnet.ca/2018/08/ca...s-this-season/
Quote:
Play-by-play veteran Rick Ball returns to the Flames broadcast booth alongside analyst Kelly Hrudey. Seasoned analyst Cassie Campbell-Pascall will also contribute to the Flames call during select broadcasts throughout the season. New host Ryan Leslie rounds out Sportsnet’s broadcast team, providing exclusive insight and interviews from Calgary and on the road.

Eric Francis @EricFrancis
Excited to announce I have joined Sportsnet full-time as a Senior columnist and TV analyst. I will remain in Calgary, focusing on the Flames and continuing my role on the broadcasts at home, while also traveling more with the team. Pumped join the talented Sportsnet team.

Lol this was the new top-secret job Francis couldn't comment on?

So plenty for everyone to complain about broadcast wise during the season. Something for everyone.

I'm not as anti-Francis as most (though his Monahan drive by was nuts last year). Either way I'm glad this means way less Spector pretending to be an objective western voice covering the Flames.

Boo to Francis.
But I'm really happy that Rick Ball is with us for at least another year. Seems like only a matter of time before he gets a national promotion.

Pretty much our dream scenario. I know people complain about Cassie, but she's good in spot duty and the rest of the team is top tier. Francis is a willnot we just can't shake off.

Did a quick count (which might not be right):
8 games on Sportsnet Nationally
13 games on HNIC Nationally
16 games on Sportsnet One Nationally
4 games on Sportsnet 360 nationally
38 games on SN-West regionally
5 games on SN Flames regionally

39 national games, 43 regional. Same as the Oilers.

Just keep the Calgary Sun style sensationalism out of the Flames broadcasts Francis and we will be A-ok.

I feel like Francis will bearable on Sportsnet. He can't rock the boat too much like he could with the Sun.

I'll give him an honest chance but not thrilled at the idea of possibly hearing his opinion even more than before.
Glad the rest of the team is largely the same and excited to see more of Leslie

Strange he would take that job what with his inside knowledge that the team is Houston bound within a few years.

What's really stopping him from being another Damien Cox?

From what I can recall he wasn't that bad when doing the on air segments. Its just his Sun articles that sucked.

This is my take exactly. I actually think that Francis is a good analyst, and most of the time I found myself very appreciative of his participation in the between-period segments. His Monahan comments were nothing short of bizarre, but also really stuck out as a completely outlier from his intermission discussions. This pleases me.

What did Francis say about Monahan? I must have missed it at the time.

No drive, lack of passion. When he was actually playing through all of his injuries.
