I'm probably in the minority but I think a Boot skate jersey (in retro colors of course) would be hilarious and awesome at the same time. Maybe as a shoulder patch?!?

interesting because traditionally there's been a lot of teams that haven't really had a 3rd jersey. Unless I suppose we are talking about retros... but a team like Montreal or New Jersey. I don't recall them ever really having a "3rd jersey".

Why would be weird? The Heritage the jerseys with the Jets logos, and the NHL owns it, not the coyotes. That's Winnipegs heritage.

Please, please, please, please bring back the retros! My hopes are high but after all the previous Flames 3rd jerseys my expectations are low.

Just for fun, here are my predictions for every 3rd jersey. I am thinking for the most part it will be either a different colour version of their current jersey or bringing back a previous jersey:

East:
-Boston: yellow version of existing jersey
-Buffalo: blue version of their retro 2018 winter classic jersey
-Carolina: black version of existing jersey
-Columbus: a return of their old third with the cannon logo
-Detroit: something similar to their 2014 winter classic jersey
-Florida: blue version of existing jersey
-Montreal: something similar to their white 2003 Heritage Classic Jersey
-New Jersey: retro style red and green jersey
-New York Islanders: a return of the NY black and white jersey from a couple years ago.
-New York Rangers: a return of the lady liberty third.
-Ottawa: The striped O jersey being worn for the NHL 100 classic next week
-Philly: a black version of their existing jersey
-Pittsburgh: a copy of their 95-02 black jersey with the silver and triangle logo
-Tampa: something similar to their previous black Bolts jersey
-Toronto: something similar to the style from the 70s to early 90s with the white across the top and the Canada flag style logo.
-Washington: full retro to their original red jersey

West:
-Anaheim: orange with their original logo similar to what they wore during the Stadium Series
-Arizona: a black version of their existing jersey
-Calgary: a glorious pedestal and horse head jersey covered in flags
-Chicago: a black version of their existing jersey
-Colorado: A return to their previous Rockies inspired jersey
-Dallas: a black version of their existing jersey
-Edmonton: a blue retro jersey
-LA: a purple and gold retro jersey
-Minnesota: a return of their old red jersey
-Nashville: a blue version of their existing jersey
-San Jose: a black version of their existing jersey
-St Louis: original lighter blue retro
-Vancouver: green with the Johnny Canuck logo
-Vegas: gold version of existing jersey
-Winnipeg: blue retro from original Jets

Montreal did have thirds, started off as "vintage" but they ended up as thirds and were worn pretty often throughout the aughts. For some reason they arent on NHL jersey DB.

Judging by the way they listen to the request of Flames fans that is very much a possibility. Hell just slap that blue flag right on the chest as the main logo. Then have vertical piping around the whole jersey like ref stripes.

On a serious note the Oilers should totally revive the mechanical sperm.

The originals are awesome and should never have been changed.

In an ideal world the Flames would have the original retros as their primaries and then could experiment with something new and different for their thirds. Unfortunately the existing primaries look like they are here to stay so when hoping for a return of the retro our best hope is with the third jersey.
