If they don't use this opportunity to name it the iPhone XS, then Apple has truly lost it .

Though of course they have used the "S" branding before, without it meaning small.

A good question. Of the people I know who got the SE (myself included), everybody did it for the size. I think if price is your sticking point, there's plenty of options elsewhere so you're probably not in the Apple ecosystem.

Ended up returning the 8. I'll wait for the new SE.

How come one can buy every stupid little accessory known to man on the Apple website, but I can't find where to buy RAM for my computer? I know it's available as you can google random pages, there's just no way to get to it.

Hey Apple, some of us still use your machines for work!

Just get it from MemEx. I've done it a couple times for family members.

In the past I bought from Crucial, but it's a fairly new imac and there doesn't seem to be any listed for this one yet.

Does non-Apple ram void apple care? Not sure if that's still an issue.

I don't even know if Apple sells RAM. As long as the RAM you buy meets their specs, warranty isn't going to be an issue; it's a user serviceable part by design. The specs are here:

I think this works for the 2017 models, though I'd double check to be sure:

For anyone that has an apple watch (the ones that dont have cell reception) how far away can you be distance-wise from the phone to still be synced with the phone?

It connects via bluetooth, so the typical range is about 30 feet. If your phone is connected to Wifi the watch can connect to the same network to stay synced, but only if it's 2.4GHz.

Cheap battery replacements starting early next year in response to the performance issue thing.

To be fair it says "whose battery needs to be replaced".

Very curious who gets to determine "needs". Consumers? Or Apple?

Whoever's phone appears to be running on a 386 with doublespace installed, would be my guess.

What if you have an iPhone 6 battery that is kind of weak but not horrible (yet)? Does that qualify for a cheap replacement?

I bought a replacement battery and repair kit to my 5S during my travels. Does simply replacing the battery fix this, or does some special codes need to be entered to tell the iOS that a new battery was installed and to start working normally again?

$249 for Apple Care for an iPhone X?! Jeez... that's cheaper than even one screen replacement, but that's basically assuming I'll need a screen replacement. I've never broken and iPhone screen and I hardly ever have them in cases, so not sure I want to get it.

Maybe I should just get a case this time.

Anyone here familiar with Macbook Pro laptops? This thing is slowly turning into a hunk of junk and I am wondering if I should wipe and start over or something along those lines.

It is a mid 2015, 15" retina with a 2.2Ghz i7 and 16Gb of ram. Spec wise it sounds ok but it is running very slow compared to when I got it about 6 months ago. Randomly it will not wake up so I have to do the long press power down with the power button. Most pages of chrome do not work properly, cannot click on boxes to fill in text, intermittent scrolling. Certain non apple mouses work erratically as well as keyboards. In general it is becoming very frustrating to use compared to when I first got it. Wondering if any of this is normal? Anything to be done?

Definitely not normal, I've run MBPs many years old without ever having that kind of issue.

What version of macOS?
