The past season of the American one had a selling feature of "no non-elimination legs" and I suspect after this fiasco, Canada will aim for the same. They may do the mega-leg thing, as they aren't going to give up number of episodes, or ad teams given cost considerations. But I'm hoping this is the final nail in the coffin for this style non-elimination legs.

Non-elimination legs are a great idea if there was team parity -- the idea is to give a team that just had some bad luck or made one bad decision a second chance, but more often than not they just end up dragging along pathetic performing teams and making the whole thing less interesting.

The race has always worked that way - luck can favor you with a huge break, or can eliminate you. I'm much happier with the odd non elimination leg than with those mega legs they kept throwing in instead - which is what it seems this one is?

The obvious answer is do it Project Runway style, and give Jon one save he can use if he chooses. Lily and Gracie would have been the ideal candidates to have saved so they could continue the race. I'd be happy with scrapping non elimination in favor of one potential saved team.

Quebec next week, for first time this year.
Those 4 BC legs kind of makes it difficult to get all around the country. East coast must be coming, hopefully

Well, irked to see J&J still there. There needs to be something done about the NE legs. Those two should have been gone a while back.
Not a bad leg this time around. I have to admit...I have totally forgotten how to multiple by a decimal, too. I did look it up to refresh my memory though, in case I ever have to again.

"I knew it was going to be a fun day."
This week, the teams travel to Windsor. Derpal struggle with dancing and Jermaine & Justin get lucky at the poker table, sending Derpal home.
In the end, this leg really came down to the luck of the draw at the poker game. Whichever team came in last there was destined to lose.
- Ty & Kat (win trip to Rio)
- Tyler & Kayleen (win $5,000 for finding ducks)
- Ben & Anwar
- Jermaine & Justin
- Deven & Amanda
- Derek & Jaspal
- Gracie & Lily
- Shayla & Joel
- Allie & Eddie
- Gail & Gisele
- Fuzz: Ty & Kat / Gracie & Lily
- EldrickOnIce: Ben & Anwar / Jermaine & Justin
- surferguy: Tyler & Kayleen / Allie & Eddie
- Yeah_Baby: Gail & Gisele / Deven & Amanda
- GirlySports: Derek & Jaspal / Shayla & Joel
- getbak: Shayla & Joel / Ty & Kat
- OutOfTheCube: Deven & Amanda / Derek & Jaspal
- WhiteTiger: Allie & Eddie / Tyler & Kayleen
- Superflyer: Jermaine & Justin / Gail & Gisele
- Amethyst: Gracie & Lily / Ben & Anwar
Next week: The teams travel to Quebec. There should be one more non-elimination leg somewhere along the way. It could be next week, but probably the week after.

Very happy the Queens are still hanging in. A couple more breaks and they gonna be there right until the end. And depending on the what type of challenges remain, they just might do it - particularly if some of them figure out that strong teams helping other strong teams is counter productive.

Seems to me as though the leg isn't very good when the top 3 teams mostly had to figure out how magnets work as part of the challenge.

I wondered if that wasn’t written on the clues? It seems like everyone struggled a bit until one team got one piece to snap, then they all just cooked through it. It definitely made that challenge too easy - unbalanced detours has been an issue all season though.

Terrible episode. I don't want to watch people play poker and do math. Or put together a puzzle and dance a routine over and over.
Why do teams keep helping the drag queens? Helping your competitors when you're in last place is a dumb idea. I guess the drag queens must have played a good social game to make everyone want to help them.
Fast forwarded a lot of this one.

Has a team every survived two penalties in one leg and lasted this many weeks after before? On Canada or the US?

Rex and Bob season 2!
They took a six hour penalty after quitting the Info task and the Roadblock and they still survived after another team had to withdraw

Yeah, ironically the episode where they are finally eliminated was probably their best leg of the race

That was a fun watch, and that rock wall/climbing 'challenge' looked like an absolute blast.
I think that I figured out what has been bothering me about the Queens. They just give up and then wander through to the end. They don't fight to survive. If they decide they are behind, they just mosey on through and don't actually TRY or race. And that's worked for them several times.
When they are 'on', they are fantastic and fun to watch, but they turn 'off' very easily and then I wonder why a "racing" slot has been wasted on them.
