Just spitballing for fun because there is no chance of this I think. If Bobrovski and Panarin plan to go to FLA in free agency what are the Panthers going to do with Luongo?

Luongo is 2nd in all-time games played by a goalie in the NHL. Kinda have to think this might be his last season and that he has discussed it to some degree with the Florida management.

Luongo is a fun idea, but he has 3 more years beyond this one at a hit of 5.3

**I apologize in advance for further derailment**
But at what cost? Ben Bishop was not coming to Calgary for free, and if my memory serves me correctly I do believe the pick that became Matthew Tkachuk was on the table in that deal.
I would not at all be interested in that tradeoff.

I think the Canucks are eating some of that 5.3M but Luongonis Smith bad these Days.
If he retires the Canucks take a huge recapture penalty next year I believe.

2020 1st
Gilles/Parsons
Frolik
Dube/Phillips
Kylington
Smith
too much? I'd take Quick in a heartbeat over Ritich/Smith

He will have a skin condition that prevents him from wearing helmets.

He’s definitely on the decline but he’s no where near smith. He can still steal the odd game.
I just gagged because I’m defending Lou....

Seems like too much to me. Quick is a bit of a cap dump and we give up 2 1st and Kylington not to mention 2 other good prospects.

If the Flames are legitimately looking at Quick, their faith in the existing tandem must be close to non-existent.
That's not a contract/player you acquire if you have any belief in the goalies in your system to do anything in the next 3 years.

15% to be exact.
I too think Luongo retires after this year. He had two or three significant knee injuries over the last two years and he looks noticeably worse since returning from the last one. His actual salary goes down to $1.3 million next year and there's two years at $1 million each after that. I don't think he pushes his body through it anymore for that when he's made so much already.
Trust me, nobody wants or needs Luongo at this point in his career, and I love the guy. He's just reaching the end of his career. He was great right up until this year.

Feel like that is massive overpayment. If I am making that trade to get a goalie, it's for someone who is less than 30 years old and doesn't have an injury history. Toffoli would be nice, but I am not sure he is the same player as he was 3-4 years ago, but maybe a new team and better players would change that.

would the Oilers consider Talbot for Lazar or Foo?
one's a former Oil King the other is an edmontonian...
i know they would rather not trade with Calgary in case the trade blows up in their faces though

I think the only reason the Oil trade Talbot to us is if it is the last resort. If we get Talbot it will be similar to how Florida got Hoffman

That's like three first rounders (2 and realistically Kylington) and a good prospect in Dube goaltending prospect and a cap dump for
Thats a lot for quick who is a 33 year old with a long term contract who seems to be declining. Toffoli is nice, but this is way too much.

Can't afford Talbot without giving up Smith in relation to that position. Otherwise we end up with an overpriced, three-headed goalie monster.
