Nice, they seem to have pretty good sources when it comes to things.

Spencer Bennett had a goal in Portland's 4-3 win over Kamloops tonight. He has 2 goals and 2 assists in 6 games this year. More than I expected out of a 5th rounder from this years draft.

I'm not one to have reports on prospects, but it appears that Ortio's season has begun pretty well. After having started in four games, his save percentage is 93.75, gaa 2.00, record 2-2.

You can follow his stats here: http://217.119.36.89/statistics/hock...1&BIND=&SHOW=1

Yes, Nemisz having a fantastic start. Looking forward to Saginaw coming to Windsor in December to see Brodie.
Awesome hockey in Windsor this year with Nemisz, Ellis, Hall, Fowler and Henrique to name a few.

J.D. Watt and Josh Meyers assigned to the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL today.

I'm mildly surprised Watt did not stick in the AHL.

Bouma will be signed soon:

Quote:
The Calgary Flames are expected to announce in the coming days that they have agreed with Bouma, the Giants’ current captain, on a three-year, entry-level deal.
Quote:
“This is huge for my confidence. I don’t have to worry about when they’re going to sign me or if they’re going to sign me. I can just go out and play my game, and that will help me out and hopefully help our team out.”
Quote:
“They know my style,” said Bouma, who is playing alongside league-leading scorer Craig Cunningham (5-8-13) and J.T. Barnett mostly this season. “I’m not a guy who is going to get a lot of points. I’m going to get in on the forecheck, I’m going to be physical. If I get points, it’s a bit of a bonus.”

Gaelan Patterson with 1 goal for the Saskatoon Blades as they wallop Kootenary 8-4 last night.

Portland's Spencer Bennett notches 1 assist as the Winterhawks extend their winning streak to five games after knocking off Everett.

That's a big plus for bouma's development. Having the AHL team within a convenient distance will give him an added coaching boost. I'm sure that throughout the year the Heat coaching staff will have opportunities to meet up with Bouma and point him in the right direction. While he might not become Milan Lucic I think Bouma will turn out to be a decent hard-nosed hockey player and will get some playing time with the Flames in the future.

Nemisz had a beautiful goal yesterday in the Spits game against Sarnia. Unfortunately ended up being a 6-5 loss, but he played really well, threw a few good hits.

Nice comment from the sports writer from The Windsor Star, while he is blogging from the game today Windsor/Sudbury

"I really like what I've seen of Nemisz this year. He's really matured and he's starting to play to his size and use it to his advantage".

Windsor is currently killing Sudbury 7-0 heading into the third period.

Wasn't it a big deal that Skelleftea was going to lean on two youngsters in Erixon and Rundblad on their blueline this year?

I see that Erixon has stayed on the pro team while Rundblad has been playing for the J20's.

In 9 games this year Ryan Howse has 8 goals and 5 assists. I dont know how many goals/points he will finish with this year, but im willing to bet hes going to take a big step forward on his 31 goals and 13 assists from last year.

They are actually going with three youngsters and so far sixteen year old Adam Larrson seems to be the best of the bunch. Lots of Hedman comparisons with Larrson (so far 6 points in 9 games compared to two for Erixon and none for Rundblad). As for Rundblad he is still mainly playing in the Elite, he just played a couple of games with the J20's as well.

Spencer Bennett picks up a goal and an assist tonight as the Winterhawks continue their strong play by beating Edmonton 5-2. Nemisz gets a single in an 8-5 win.

The Heat has recalled G David Shantz from Victoria and re-assigned C Hugo Carpentier to Utah.

Why is Shantz back? What happened?
