Default Prime Video discussion

I figured with Prime video getting some attention and new shows could maybe chat about it here?

I just finished 3rd episode of Jack Ryan and it blew my dick off. I can't believe how good this show is so far. I literally just sat there in shock at the end of episode 3 saying "wow".

Yeah, Jack Ryan is pretty decent.
Also, really really late to the party, but Prime has allowed me to finally watch Mr. Robot, which is amazing.

Jack Ryan was excellent. Great cast and solid character development. I’m already looking forward to season two.

For anyone that’s an 80s fan, I suggest watching Red Oaks. It’s a drama-dey with a lot of familiar faces. It’s three seasons and each episode is under 30 minutes. Witty and enjoyable.

Really enjoyed Jack Ryan as well, but he is a bit of a departure from the book character. More brooding and a bit of a loner, too much of an idealist and more deep scars type.
Granted this is early in his career and he'll be going to Russia soon.

With The Expanse moving to Prime Video as well, I'll be using my Prime Video a lot more often than before.

Sneaky Pete and Man in High Castle were very enjoyable.
Jack Ryan is alright so far, but a bit ridiculous - I will just say the use of drone in Episode 3 vs non-use in the previous episode. So ridiculous as to defy belief.

Bosch is great, Man in The High Castle is good too. I’ve just been working my way through Justified, as it’s on there. The Night Manager and Jack Ryan are in the cue next.

Is there an easy way to get shows to stream from a phone/tablet onto chromecast? Want to avoid firing up my laptop in order to watch these shows on my TV

As far as I know, there is not. Android TV does have an Amazon Prime Video app, but I think the only other easy way is to use an Amazon Fire Stick. You can also screen-mirror an Android tablet/phone, but then you need it running the whole time you watch it on your TV.

First off, congratulations on your gender reassignment surgery.

Second, I love Prime. Jack Ryan was great. Look forward to season 2.

I wonder how far they will the Jack Ryan stories and if we'll ever get to the "Hunt for the Red October" era with this Amazon incarnation of the series.
