I was playing with playon and my ps3 last night and was getting a very smooth picture. If you have a ps3 or other playon supported device, you should give it a try.

I have a fixable problem with my computer so I am trying very hard to fix it.

It didn't always act like this, so I would prefer to remedy it rather than forget it

It sounds to me that maybe some application or process is using up your resources. Maybe check your Task Manager.

although since you just reformatted, I can't imagine what.

I recently changed my video card and I noticed an immediate drop in cpu usage when watching these only videos, but the vids are not any smoother still

Can you take the computer to another network (ie. someone else's house) and verify that there isn't something skunky with yours? I know you said bandwidth tests check out fine, but....

If CPU utilization is low, and yet you can only use low bandwidth streams, I suspect its a network issues now.

I didn't want to start a new thread but it sounds like NHL gamecenter is going to be available on PS3 in the next few weeks.

I just got gamecenter live for my PS3. Awesome product and I'm quite impressed. First and foremost, the presentation on the integrated application is fantastic, my wife even really likes it. The HD feeds look pretty good, though I can tell there's some compression on my 65" television set. My only real complaint other than the compression issue is the audio is not in 5.1.

Other than that its great to see the NHL putting out a product showing that they "get it".

Now if only Sony could work out a deal for a similar service for NCAA Football I'd be in heaven.

We recently canceled cable two weeks ago, the NHL gamecenter on the PS3 certainly made this decision much less painful.

I just purchased a new laptop

acer 15.6inch
i3 350
intel HD gpu
4gb ddr3
500gb
win7

$450 after tax.

This laptop so far runs EVERYTHING so much stronger than my PC with a 4850 HD gpu in it. I think my cpu/mobo has just come to the end of its life cycle.
