While the build quality is as good as it gets, if you are going to be playing games that frequently use the D pad, I can't recommend the controller.

I too have never had the same issue as Ashasx, and have had the same experience as Erick Estrada.

If you are mainly using the controller for sports games on the XBONE then you shouldn't have the same issue as Ashasx. If that does bother you, just take off the D-pad attachment and use it without, easy fix.

I'm holding my elite controller right now and can't duplicate your issue at all with the standard dpad accessory, even with massive amounts of pressure.

Happens just as easy for me with the disc or the standard d pad

Either I have a faulty d pad or perhaps it was fixed

So with the Escapist Magazine announcing that they are going to be "apolitical" with their coverage, a lot of games journalists have taken to social media with vitriol towards the entire situation proclaiming that it is irresponsible and flat out incorrect to not reference politics or history in how they relate to video games, or really any other type of media entertainment.

Is that correct? Is it really not possible to see video games as escapism and view their worlds, messages, and themes as independent of real world politics?

Well, you can pretend that art and media are not influenced by politics and culture if you like. But I think that to do so as an individual would require a rather large amount of foolishness and self-delusion. But that is still individual choice. To do so as a media outlet strikes me as abdicating their responsibility.

I never stated that all video games or films are without political influence. Sometimes the connection is as obvious as it is intentional, and there's nothing wrong with that.

But often times, worlds are created with their own struggles that have no relation to current or recent events beside the fact that they are simply conflicts. Rebels versus the state. Those who have the power versus those who do not.

Regarding journalism itself, I constantly find myself avoiding Kotaku and Polygon because their games coverage often doesn't even talk about the game anymore. They don't get me excited, they make me feel like I've seen it all before.

Easy Allies (formerly GameTrailers) seem to be able to remain apolitical regarding games that aren't inherently political, and I enjoy their passion and coverage far more than the alternatives.

Well, in a story that Escapist won't be covering, EA is once again apologizing for its stupid decision making. In this case, for censoring Colin Kapernick's name from a song used in game: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/...-in-madden-19/

Spin/excuse game is on point though.

Eurogamer changed their Facebook profile picture and people are losing their minds.

Just simple rainbow colors with the pride parade in their city apparently.

Neat. So they did what Doom 4 was supposed to do (Hell On Earth).

I love it. I haven't played since Madden 2013 I don't think, but now that they released it on PC I picked it up day 1

I can't say if it's any better than 18, but I like what it offers.
Ultimate team has never really been for me, but without contracts and lots of solo play options I'm enjoying it

Anyone else have kids that are addicted to Fortnite? I can't recall a game that has been this popular in a long time. The combination of a shooter and a builder game, with some dance moves thrown in for fun seems to be the magic formula.

The first game that comes to mind when I think of kids and addiction is Minecraft. It's still very popular today. I would argue that's a much better game to be addicted to as it's probably exercising your brain a bit more when you're freeform building things in a virtual space.

Well, it's the largest game since last year - PUBG. But, the builder/minecraft component will almost certainly see it remain more popular for far longer than PUBG did.
