Default Playstation Plus and PS Vita question.

I recently bought a PS Vita ($149.99 at futureshop bundled with Madden) and i had a question. Im a PS Plus user and on my PS3 i need to be connected to the playstation plus network to access the "free" games i downloaded...

Is this the same for the Vita? Cause that would be a super lame problem for a portable gaming system...

You just link up and download the game onto your vita. Then you can play it anywhere.

you can play offline. I tested a PSN plus game with Airplane mode and it seemed to work just fine.

Actually, you don't need to be connected to the network to play your free games on PS3 either. I just disconnected my Internet entirely and booted up Spec Ops and it was perfectly fine.

I was just going to say that my internet was down a few weeks back and I don't recall there being a problem.

edit: just looking at some forums, some people say you will be asked to log in periodically.
