I dunno, they've lost every game with Ortio in net. Let them be competitive but still lose. That's the way it should be down the stretch.
It's more that I can't stand watching Hiller barely move and get beat over the shoulder for the thousandth time than I really want to see Ortio anymore.

Calm down people, this is an obvious tank move. I dislike Hartley more than anyone on these boards except Polak, but this was the right decision.
A win tonight and we jump Buffalo in the standings. We don't want that.

Ortio is obviously not in their long term plans. So I don't really care anymore. I'd be happy with an 10-8 loss. lol.

Before you all pile on Hartley there is always the chance Ortio is not 100%. If that's not the case I don't agree with starting Hiller but the guy just doesn't have a lot of faith in Ortio.

For sure. Those were just the guys I was going to be watching closer.
It's not like I expect the team to go on a Cinderella run back into the playoffs with Ortio. I'm just so tired of watching Hiller get beat on shots that basic positioning would stop.

I think Hiller is effectively the backup now. And Buffalo is the kind of team you use your backup against.

I watch games to hopefully see the team perform well and cheer for winning. I dunno, otherwise what's the point of watching/following every game? Don't get me wrong, obviously and logically high picks are great in this situation. But I can't shake my desire to want the team to play well and hopefully win games.

Agreed. I want a good draft pick, sure that would be nice. But I honestly get angry at losses. I was shouting at the TV after the Bruins loss.

I disagree.
The way Treliving talked about Ortio, I believe they have him in their plans. At least for the next year.
Putting in Hiller makes no sense to me. Unless it's a tank job...and I don't want to believe in that.
If nothing else, the team seems to play better with Ortio in net.

I can't believe how gleefully so many posters accept tanking and or losing.
High draft picks dont guarantee anything. You need a competent GM who can build a complete team.
We already have 3 high draft picks, and 2 guys who came out of left field in the 4th. Is a 2nd or 3rd overall the answer? Could be, but I'm not so sure.
