UCP not forcing Athabasca university staff to move.
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/cana...-employees-to/
This is simply standard operating procedure for them:
- announce something without thought
- threaten retaliation if announcement isn't being followed
- incur public backlash
- meekly withdraw announcement

Hey sadly this is an improvement from the days of “old” UCP policy- they actually listened to the backlash for once.

We're going to threaten to drop your funding but it was just a suggestion.

I, for one, am shocked that the anti-intellectual party of dip####s and horse####ers craft policy with same delicate hand they use to beat their children.

The list of stupid things the UCP wanted to do but caved to pressure from Albertans is as long as the stupid things it has done

S. Silver - Sterling Silver - something that hasn't been used as much in the last 50 years. That dates this "essay" quite accurately.

The UCP also like to always preface their actions with 'this is what Albertans want', before getting shut down by said Albertans for not wanting, indeed, what they were told they do.

Can you elaborate a bit on what ndp policies you found that were so bad during their 4 year reign that makes them unelectable compared to the current ucp Gov?

Green text? Maybe? Hopefully?
I've always been on team 'change the name', but honestly I'm not sure if it would gain any ground. Any Never-NDPer just needs one friend to tell them that the new party is just the NDP with a new name. And it's way too late.

It’s almost as if people should pay more attention to policies than a party’s name
