Default Coyotes: Are they dangerous in packs?

Just thinking of going for a walk after a long day at work. I live in Huntington Hills, and want to trek into Nose Hill Park after the Flames game. I'm worried about packs of Coyotes. I know they are there, and I would not care if one passed by me. However if a dozen surrounded me, and starting howling, I would not like that.

Has anyone ever been attacked by a gang of Coyotes in Calgary?

Not dangerous but the packs are pretty cheap. Four tickets, four hot dogs and four pops for $119.

I worked at a camp up north once. I saw a pack of coyotes circle one of the seismic guys in the field. The majority of them formed a semi-circle behind them with a couple in front. He kept looking back to check how far the ones behind him were from him and one of the times he turned his head, one of the coyotes leapt at him and tore out his throat. He bled out right there in the snow.

They're incredibly dangerous.

I'm honestly not sure if this is real or a joke. I have never heard of coyotes doing anything like this but that's way too effed up of a story for me to just outright dismiss it.

Maybe they wanted to know if you have been to the Stampede yet.

A grown man could probably tear the throats out of two or three coyotes before the pack sliced his Achilles, and let him bleed out beside the path before tearing him to pieces, and packing his remains in Tupperware.

The only known fatal attack by coyotes on a human in Canada was an attack on Taylor Mitchell in Nova Scotia in 2009.

Super packs are what you should really worry about.

Coyotes are dangerous to your pets. They will lure out your dogs, then ambush them.

It depends, do they have access to the ACME Corporation catalogue of anvils and whatnot?
