Our third kit for this season. A tribute to Bob Marley.
Most likely to break the record for most sold Ajax jersey ever.
The story behind it:
In 2008 Ajax played a friendly against in Cardiff against Cardiff City.
After the match the Ajax fans were held in the stands. They played Three Little Birds in the stadium and since that day it became an 'Ajax song'
It's played in the Johan Cruyff Arena at the start if the second half of every game.
Over the years Bob's son Ky-Mani Marley performed a couple of times in the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Apparently Bob was a fan of the Dutch national team and Ajax. Especially Johan Cruyff.
I am deeply moved that Ajax has embraced Three Little Birds as its own song. Stories like this touch my heart and show how powerful songs can be. Football was everything to my father. To use his words: football is freedom”, daughter Cedella Marley reacts to Ajax.
Unique (at least for Ajax), Adidas will sell this jersey worldwide.

Schalke getting slaughtered by Jahn Regensburg in the second German division. I struggle to think of another big European club that has gone downhill that fast, it's actually quite impressive. At this rate I think relegation to the 3rd league is way more realistic than getting back up into the Bundesliga.
However, overhere it's either you like Ajax or you hate Ajax. There's nothing in between.
The biggest club, the most success, most fans nationwide... Other fans can't stand that. Especially in a small country like The Netherlands there's a lot of hate. They like to see us fail.
I always compare it to the Maple Leafs (except they never win anything)
I really, really like the idea of an MLS team in Las Vegas now that they have an indoor stadium with air conditioning. I'm amazed at the success of the Golden Knights and now the Raiders and I feel it is only a matter of time before an NBA team either moves there or they get an expansion team.
